We also inspected the completed air-conditioning project at St Patrick’s Chemnoet Parish in Mosop.
It was encouraging to see the system working well and making the church a more comfortable place for worship and fellowship. We were pleased to support the project to completion.
Wishing the parish continued grace and growth in faith and service.

Our rivers are the lifelines of our cities, and their restoration must be a national priority. A clean, healthy and thriving Nairobi begins with restoring our rivers, protecting our ecosystems and bringing every stakeholder on board.
Today, I engaged Commissioners from the Nairobi Rivers Commission, led by Commissioner Benjamin Langwe, on strengthening interventions to deliver meaningful and measurable results in the restoration of Nairobi’s urban rivers.
Our discussions focused on developing a coordinated framework for cleaning, protecting and restoring urban river ecosystems, while expanding river restoration initiatives across the country.
We also discussed closer collaboration through the ongoing Master River Basin Plan, bringing together the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Ministry of Water and Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development to advance integrated river-basin management, pollution control, ecosystem restoration and sustainable urban development.

The effective delivery of Government programmes requires close coordination, continuous monitoring and timely action. It is through such collective oversight that we can identify emerging challenges and ensure that national priorities translate into meaningful impact for Kenyans.
I attended the Cabinet Committee Meeting of the Whole in Karen, Nairobi, where we reviewed and tracked the progress of Government business. The meeting received updates on the implementation of flagship projects, the prevailing food security situation and other emerging issues affecting the welfare and livelihoods of Kenyans. We reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening coordination across Government, addressing emerging challenges and accelerating the delivery of priority programmes that improve lives and advance Kenya’s development agenda.

Restoring Nairobi's rivers demands coordinated action across Government and our institutions especially now as we face an imminent El Niño phase. That shared objective brought me together with Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Chairperson of the Nairobi Rivers Commission and her able team to review ongoing restoration efforts and identify practical ways to accelerate their impact.
A key priority was strengthening the restoration of Nairobi's rivers, improve public health, enhance climate resilience and create a cleaner, more environmentally sustainable city.
The Government will continue supporting partnerships that protect our environment and transform Nairobi's rivers into a lasting asset for present and future generations.
