he’s about to make me cry, lando you gave this year everything and have a lot to be proud of
“Guys, it wasn’t the best of defensive championship of my career, my first one, but not much you can do in formula one I’m afraid”
“I felt like I’ve had an amazing season, but it just doesn’t, turn out to be that well”
max: “you’ve done the best you can I think, circumstances”

Exciting weekend! Was very happy to be racing our GT3 car in Portimão. There were some ups and downs, but as a team we learnt a lot.
I also feel I need to speak up about the hate and harassment Chris has received after the race. Everyone can have their opinions about what happened on track, but these personal attacks are not okay. Chris had a really strong stint and mistakes can happen.
There’s no place for this kind of abuse in our sport or anywhere else.

"how are you feeling about the sprint incident after those chats [with the team & oscar]"
lando: "i mean, you have two sides. one is what the stewards say, and i think that's just a fair reasoning of what happened. no one's to blame.
but i did apologise because it was still me that was the one attacking, as i have the right to do, but if i just sat there and was boring, like i should be, then nothing would have happened. so it's still my fault, but i deserve to go for the space, and i still believe i had the right for it"

such a good question and a great answer! 👏🏼
"the spotlight is always on you drivers, but what you can do is most of the times limited to what the car can do. although you're a world champion already, i feel that this season you've had the best drives you ever did. how does it feel to have the audience not knowing that you did a great drive because you finished fourth, but you feel that you have done an excellent job?"
lando: "there's not a lot you can do about that, honestly. it's the same with everything in life, though. you're kind of just judged off of the visual performance, especially from tv, especially in formula 1 honestly, more than just what your own performance has been, because the car might not be as quick on one weekend compared to another. you just hope that people understand that.
i guess i hope that you guys and girls understand that from, everyone in f1 is in f1 for a reason, and just because the car's not as good doesn't mean that another driver's worse or better, and vice versa. so it's always difficult from that point of view, and yes, there's a lot of races this year i feel like i've driven better and been able to extract more. and i'm not saying that last year i did a bad job. it's just i'm talking about being able to extract 99% versus 99.5%, and it's just those last little things. the three qualis i've been on pole have been by under half a tenth every time. and two hundredths, three hundredths, we're talking just very small margins.
but those three pole positions gave me chances to win three races. if i was not on pole position, unlikely i would have won any other races. so that's just how quickly a little margin can change the whole outcome on something.
but the second half of last year, some of my performance were just as good as this year. this year, you have to drive the car in a different way, and i've had to adapt a lot to how you have to drive this year's car. and i think there's two skill levels to it. there's the general skill level of just extracting performance out of the car itself, and there's also extracting performance out of the power unit and the driving and the tyres and all of this extra little level. and i think that's what i've done a very good job on this year and been able to understand quite quickly.
but i'm not fussed if people on the outside see it as good or not. i think it's more important that for me and my team, i'm satisfied, and my job every weekend is to extract the maximum out of myself. so if i can do that, i'm happy. i'd be happier if it was for a win, but you have to realise your goals in formula 1 are not always winning the race outright. a win for us this weekend could be a p5 or a p3. so i think you have to acknowledge what the maximum performance for your own team is in your own car, and that's all you can really be happy with at the end of the day"

lando for world mental health day ❤️
"share one thing that supports your mental health and keeps you performing at your best"
lando: "it's hard to ever do things alone. so it's always good when you have people you can talk to, spend time with, make you laugh, make you happy. and it's sometimes easier to hard the more difficult discussions and chats with your friends. so i think that's one of the most important things"
