i see lots of people agonize over their lineart never looking as good as the sketch-- and 99 times out of 100 times its because the sketch was fine as its own drawing! so the more layers of linework they do, the more it sandblasts down the energy and fun of the original

something valuable an inking professor taught me in school was to do most of your actual drawing in the inking phase. if your linework never looks as good as the sketch, it may be that youre defining too much in the sketch phase. and tbh. not everyone needs lineart at all

instead of cutting out the lineart phase, you can also loosen up your sketches so that you're "drawing" more in the inks. i started using messy thumbnails instead of tight sketches b4 lineart and it helped immensely to stop getting attached 2 sketches thatll get redrawn anyway
