Is it time to rethink how we screen for #HCC?
Ultrasound remains the cornerstone of HCC surveillance, but one size may not fit all!
In this @RSNA News feature, I discuss the growing role of abbreviated MRI, biomarkers & personalized surveillance.

The artery is open. Is the brain actually getting blood? 🧠🤔
My latest #RIAM explores no-reflow on perfusion imaging after thrombectomy and why reopening the artery is only part of the story.

1/10 🧵 Can native T1 value be compared across mapping sequences? 🫀 Can ECV? 🆕 in @Radiology_RSNA. Spoiler: no. And yes. 1237 participants scanned with both MOLLI and ShMOLLI at 3T.

Can baseline #MRI hydrocephalus features predict cognitive decline at a population level? 🧠 New @radiology_rsna study evaluates DESH markers in 2,133 older adults over 5–7 years of follow-up! #RadInTraining #Tweetorial @RITEditor @RadiologyEditor @VChernyakMD @SuhnyAbbara

The combination of THC + ESF predicted subsequent decline in the combined cohort (OR = 1.83, 95% CI: 1.16–2.87, P = 0.04). Conversely, ventricular enlargement alone (EI > 0.3) or complete DESH showed insufficient evidence of predicting cognitive decline after correction.

Takeaway:
Identifying tight high-convexity sulci on brain #MRI provides crucial early risk stratification for cognitive decline in older adults. Future work with longitudinal imaging is needed to track progression over time!

Can MRI hint at cognitive decline years before symptoms appear?
In 2,133 older adults, high-convexity sulcal tightness 🧠was linked to nearly 3× higher odds of cognitive decline 📉 over 5–7 years.

Can #HCC extend beyond the margin we see on grayscale ultrasound?
New @radiology_rsna study explores “perfusion beyond margin” (PBM), #CEUS feature that may peak into tumor aggressiveness & prognosis.
