"Your sermon should be so text-driven that if you lost your notes, you wouldn’t falter because the text is your outline."

I really enjoyed leading this session at @SWBTS's preaching workshop a few weeks ago. 2 Corinthians is such an incredible book.
Don't worry about misplacing your notes from the Effective Preaching Workshop. We have all the notes and outlines, along with the recording for each session.
Check out the second session on 2 Corinthians 3:1-5:10.

Applicants in the @IMB_SBC missionary pipeline hit 1,400 today, a high mark not seen in more than a decade, which means our overseas missionary headcount is also beginning to grow again. And there’s room for more.

One of God’s greatest blessings in my life and our church are the older saints who continue to faithfully serve and exalt Jesus Christ.
Don’t just minister to widows; mobilize them. Don’t discount them; deploy them.

Getting ready for a Texas-sized ALCS! Since they’re both my favorite teams, my plan is to root for the home team until it gets to Game 7, and then just sit back and enjoy the show.
Nolan Ryan should throw out the first pitch of EVERY game.

I can’t believe it. My two favorite teams will face off in the ALCS, meaning I’m guaranteed to have a team in the World Series. It’s gonna be a wild one! #Ready2Reign #GoAndTakeIt

We love having kids in Big Church! Helping them learn how to worship is part of our worship. Pastor Keith will be leading a one-time class this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on successful strategies and resources for navigating these waters.
Yesterday, I was with the little kids at kids camp. They had such an amazing week of worshipping Jesus. Today I was with the big kids for lunch. These ladies are such an encouragement and vital part of our church. And I’m now officially one of Debbie’s Daisies. 😀🌼 #pastorlife

Vacation Bible School sign-ups are OPEN!!!! Our VBS will be on June 5-9, 8:30 a.m. – noon, for Pre-K4 through completed 6thgrade. fbcgroesbeck.com/vbs
My best parenting advice: Having young, fidgety kids in church isn’t a distraction from worship. It’s an opportunity to teach them how to worship, which is worship itself. I wrote this article a few years back on how we helped our kids listen and worship: fbcgroesbeck.com/ministries/…

When we pray, we pray not for one, but for the whole people, because we the whole people are one.

3 years ago today, I preached out of the back of a truck at a drive-in Easter worship service during the quarantine. A wonderful, unique experience, but I’m glad we’re no longer in that season. 😀
