The Prisoners Dilemma depends on the prisoners. This paper tested the Dilemma on students, ordinary prisoners & imprisoned members of the Camorristi (Neapolitan Mafia). The Camorra are significantly more likely to solve the dilemma by cooperating, and also punish defectors more.
