“The first action to be taken is to pull ourselves together. If we are going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb, when it comes, find us doing sensible and human things -- praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts -- not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs.” — C.S. Lewis

“The heist mastermind’s name was William Smarto?”
There was a bank robber who pulled off a heist this way. The mastermind was a hairdresser named William Smarto. He realized that the safety deposit boxes in the vault of an Illinois bank formed a dead space, just like this one. He walked in on Saturday, hid in the dead space, and when everyone was gone, he climbed out and stole over $1,000,000 from the other safety deposit boxes. On Monday, when people were coming and going, he found an opportunity to climb out of the dead space without anyone seeing him, and simply walked out of the bank with a duffle bag full of everyone else’s valuables. He got away with it, but was ultimately caught trying to do a similar trick at another bank.

I honestly think about this tweet like every other day, there are so many examples of this in my new marriage and I make it a guiding star for my role in it. You should be proud

Nobody ever talks about how the other half of “Don’t bite the hand that feeds” is “Don’t feed the mouth that bites you.”
