One more study from @drhrr @AIGHospitals on #CBDstones: #EUS vs #MRCP for intermediate-risk bile duct stones @ESGE_news cr 4.53 vs 18.90 kg CO2e per procedure on India’s grid. A real gap Imaging is among medicine’s most energy-hungry activities, yet carbon has never been part of choosing between EUS and MRCP for intermediate-likelihood stones. doi.org/10.1136/gutjnl-2021-… @Gut_BMJ The diagnosis is the same. Carbon matters most on carbon-intensive grids, but EUS brings deep sedation and operator dependence. doi.org/10.14309/ctg.0000000… @AmCollegeGastro @ACG_CTG #GIEndoscopy #Endoscopy #EUS #MRCP #Choledocholithiasis #GreenEndoscopy #SustainableHealthcare #ClimateAndHealth #EvidenceBasedMedicine #CriticalAppraisal #GastroTwitter #MedTwitter

The Swedish experience is encouraging—can and should this approach be adapted to the Indian healthcare context?
Can trained nurse endoscopists help meet growing CRC screening demand? A nationwide Swedish study found quality outcomes comparable to physicians across nearly 28,000 screening colonoscopies, supporting expanded screening capacity. Read: doi.org/10.1055/a-2949-7463 @ESGE_news

“Love plot” is not a term I invented because I love statistics 😄 — it is the actual statistical name. A Love plot is a standard visualization used in propensity-score analyses to show covariate balance before and after matching or weighting. In our recently published study comparing endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) vs oral semaglutide, we used inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW). Balance was assessed using standardized mean differences (SMDs), with |SMD| <0.10 considered acceptable. 📊 The Love plot tells the story visually: substantial baseline imbalances move toward zero after weighting, with all post-weighting SMDs <0.10. So yes, I love the Love plot ❤️📊 — not just for its name, but because it makes confounding and covariate balance immediately visible. ⚠️ Balance achieved ≠ confounding eliminated. Good balance improves comparability for measured covariates; residual and unmeasured confounding can still remain. 📖 Jagtap N, et al. Duodenum is wher endoscopists get humbled. Thin wall. Bile. Narrow lumen. High vascularity. #ESD has historically carried perforation rates ~ 50% and surgical rescue rates ~ 14%. Wat dos high-volume centre @AIGHospitals achieve in real-world practice? doi.org/10.1016/j.gie.2026.0…

A personalized endoscopic step-up strategy 📊 Predict re-intervention risk @ baseline ⚖️ Reserve upfront DEN for high-risk (large WON, high debris, paracolic extension) ✅ Drain & observe low-risk:most won't need DEN 🚫 Stop applying universal upfront necrosectomy to every WON
