“British exports to the EU in food and drink, live animals, plants, seeds, timber and all other products covered by SPS rules are worth £15bn a year; our imports from the EU in the same categories come to £51bn.
The EU is plainly the demandeur here. Indeed, it should be biting our arm off for a deal. Although its negotiators (and the self-loathing poseurs in this country who unhesitatingly side with them) are trotting out all their old clichés about cakes and cherries, the fact is that the EU can agree to mutual recognition of SPS. It has done so, for example, with New Zealand, on the sensible grounds that New Zealand’s food standards are in no sense ropey or barbaric.
So why have Eurocrats to agree a similar deal with Britain, thereby guaranteeing its farmers access to their largest export market? There is, I’m afraid, only one answer. They have been holding out for a British government despairing enough, demoralised enough and dogmatic enough to agree instead unilaterally to follow EU rules in perpetuity. To their delight, they have now got one.”
For the PM, reaching agreement matters more than what’s agreed – so he’s pretending every concession is a win

🔴 These are the 278 seats.
On current polling the right loses every one of them, and in every one its combined vote is bigger than the winner's.
That's not a lack of support. That's a split vote.

Yet another reminder of the "significant concern high up in government about Andy Burnham’s Brexit strategy"... 👇
We would just add that these "endless conversations" will distract from tackling Britain's real problems, and the renewed uncertainty will hold back investment too.
NEW: Cabinet minister Lisa Nandy appears to suggest she opposes rejoining the EU, saying Britons do not want to “relitigate endless conversations about in or out”
As Bloomberg reported on Saturday there is significant concern high up in government about Andy Burnham’s Brexit strategy, with several cabinet ministers trying to dissuade the PM from backing rejoining and committing to an in-out referendum in the next parliament
This is the transcript of her Sky interview with @MarkUrban01 this morning
Lisa Nandy: People don't want to relitigate, sort of endless… Yeah, I mean, people don't want to relitigate endless conversations about in or out leave or remain. They don't want to repeat those years. But what they really do feel very sharply is that the Brexit deal that we got is not working for people. It's not working for small businesses. We're struggling to trade. It's not working for upcoming bands who want to tour. It's just it's not working for kids who need to access clinical trials. It just is not working.
Mark Urban: Sorry to jump in. But if I were to say to you, reversing Brexit would have a catastrophic effect for politics. Who said that? You know what I'm going to say, don't you? That was you
Lisa Nandy: Yeah so I've always. Yeah, I've always, sorry…
Mark Urban: No, go ahead, go ahead.
Lisa Nandry: I was just going to say, I've always thought that when we got to the point, I campaigned for a remain in the referendum, and when we got the result, 52% to leave, 48 to remain. I always said that we have to respect that result, and we need to respect the fact that there are significant numbers of people who disagree. We need to leave, but we need to have a close relationship with our closest neighbours across Europe. And we honoured one part of that deal. We did leave eventually. We didn't honour the other because we didn't have the close relationship, and I think it is right to respect the fact that we went round that track many times and people made a decision. I think it's also right to respect the fact that for people across this country, the deal that we got is not what we were promised and we need to do better.

Hey @grok was the terrorist involved in the Poland attack a far right extremist?
🚨🇵🇱 A disturbing new detail has emerged from the DEADLY shooting in Kraków, Poland.
An image circulating online appears to show a skull-like insignia on the suspected gunman's helmet, raising questions about possible FAR-RIGHT extremist links.
The symbol's resemblance to the Nazi-era Totenkopf is drawing attention, but its identity has not been confirmed.
Authorities have yet to establish the attacker's motive.

♦️PAKISTAN DID IT.
WHY CAN'T WE?♦️
Pakistan has deported 2.7 MILLION Afghans since 2023.
Plan is for 3 MILLION total
( Nobody is screaming racist at Pakistan)
Meanwhile in Britain:
♦️ 6,360 Afghans crossed the Channel on small boats in the last year — up 18%
♦️Afghans are now the No.1 nationality on small boats
♦️29,600 Afghan asylum claims in UK between 2022-2024
♦️Only 115 failed Afghans were actually returned last year, despite failure rates being much higher.
It's suspected deported Afghans from Pakistan are amongst arrivals here.
Pakistan says "go home" and does it.
Britain says "go home" and puts them in a 4-star hotel.
When will we grow a backbone?

These clowns don't get it. The more mud thrown at Nigel, the more support he gets.
They will say anything to target him. We have seen this before in other parts of the world. Whatever is thrown at him and at us, we will still vote for him and for Reform. Why?
Firstly, this attack agenda, such as the ITV hit piece, is bankrolled, orchestrated and peddled by the enemies of strong nation-state democracy, of sovereignty and of freedom. They will do anything to stop that becoming a reality. We’ve seen this for a decade.
Nigel Farage has the fortitude to do what needs to be done to save this country. His platform puts British people and this nation first, restores justice, ends uncontrolled mass migration and lowers the burden on people.
We’ve had years of conveyor belt, globalist puppets - pandering to the elite and doing their level best to destroy this nation: one robotic, virtue-signalling, platitude-laden, cretinous “leader” after the next.
We need a true statesman. Nigel is a statesman. They are in short supply in modern politics. He’s the most accomplished political leader in this country (look it up). He and his team are also far more capable than the rest of the frontline drift in British politics.
Lastly, enemies of Reform and of a strong nation state underestimate the size of this movement. We are not thousands. We are many, many millions. The council elections and devolved elections were a flavour of what’s to come. They will see it at the next general election.
Farage and Reform will either #SaveBritain, or the uniparty that has overseen generations of debt and decline will end Britain.
