Rust is special. The bincode library moved away from Github because of 'immorality', and now bans and scolds contributors who work in 'evil' industries like oil (you know, the guys who keep the lights on). Folks, it's not that hard--just keep politics out of tech.

How do you anticipate software engineers will work in the future? Will we write highly detailed specifications, let AI implement them, and then review the output with an AI reviewer guiding us?

It is how it is unfortunately.

I thought fat, sweaty and obnoxious developers were a thing of the past. But I was wrong!

Today is hands down the best time ever to be alive. I mean, using the tech today to build stuff is easier and more productive than ever. Create a startup, build shit, ship. What are you all waiting for?

So stigmatized to talk about tools like Cursor at work. Everyone is pretty awkward or straight up hating it saying nonsense. Strange times.

Serious question, is it better to block spam accounts than not?

There has never been a greater time to do a startup a developer.

Maybe I too should do the same 🤔

Why are people not replacing their garbage JVM/.NOT with Rust? It’s obviously more cost effective and reliable in the long run. It’s not that hard to write Rust, that’s just fake news. You don’t get a huge penalty for writing bad Rust code in terms of performance either.

It's insane that we can write a good prompt, talk a walk, let the AI do the job, come back, the code is done and it's good.
