This place gets so dark so fast that I always just want to sleep. I gotta figure out how to manage this.

It is 9pm, and it is the best day ever. I think I am really old.

Before I disappear for a short bit, one thing about getting a Masters degree in Ed that is surprisingly useful as an engineer is how hard test writing is. If you aren't very thoughtful, you really can't be sure what you are measuring. Same is true in AI work, in spades

its almost 90 days later. I submitted a blind ssrf that allowed me to enumerate an internal network for @Meta who rejected it because @ManusAI left their portfolio. I contacted @ManusAI about it, and their internal AI just kept telling me it referred it to Security then closing the ticket over and over. If someone from Manus wants to talk, lmk. Otherwise I will be writing up the finding for next week.

being an engineer is a weird profession. I've written code I was very proud of, only for it to be canceled before it ever proved its value. I've built things on a whim that I never expected to last, but they stayed in production for a decade.

me: why did the run fail! it only ran for like 2 minutes during recon!?!?!?!?! ai: you forgot to launch the test environment... ....

My apologies for complaining here; and for the record my wife is confirmed as fine (just a mild concussion from the fall).

Yesterday my wife fell again, though this time it was an accident. She hit her head, not nearly as hard as before, and appears to be fine. Because it wasn't clearly an emergency-- I wasn't sure I could take her in for care however because @Cigna told me that visits require pre-approval and I don't even know what those rules are anymore. We called her Neurologist, who advised she should go in, but I am not even sure that counts as they've already declined a claim once for not having THEIR pre-approval even though a doctor advised us to get treatment. This can't be the state of modern American healthcare. It is an absolute tragedy.

Their idea of "care" btw, is nothing but run arounds. I spent several hours trying to get support on the phone and that went no where. We sent an email in to our actual company representative to get an email back about how everything is miscoded and several things required 'pre-authorization' because you know, why would the lady who had a stroke need an MRI that her doctor told her to get right? They even have a bot that replies here on X and tries to get you into the system-- because they care so much right?

I once read that people preferred Star Trek to Star Wars because Star Trek painted a picture of a hopeful future of unity, rather than a dystopian world of destruction. I am beginning to get that.

I like that people are all making fun of the new Tesla-- but honestly, I think it is pretty dope. I am not sure what it means, but man, that was a pretty great demo. I've long thought that flying cars were far more contingent on AI/self-driving, as I can't imagine a world where everyone suddenly qualifies to be a pilot. It feels like we are one more step closer to that world.

Wait, for BYOD at work, does that include GPUs too?

Since when did the medical insurance world just decide that we needed permission to take needed treatments prescribed by doctors?

Like, oh dang-- I know you needed that, and your doctor said you should do it... but because you didn't ask ME first so MY DOCTORS could review it...

also, if doctors in the medical insurance world are reviewing our health to approve treatments-- can they just come diagnose us instead so I am not paying for things twice?

me: you made this better at closing tasks than actually doing work-- it needs to go deeper and actually investigate, not just work superficially ai: got it me: you made this go deeper and find things, but now it seems it's not tracking its own work again... ai: my bad....

me: Why don't the tasks created get tracked by the plan? ai: One uses shortened names that don't reconcile, we need a converter class to map names me: But we made and control both sides? Can't we just assign a shared ID instead of building a brittle converter? AI: Oh yeah
