NFL can be so hilariously bad at times

The Big 10 had a commercial yesterday showing a map of the schools that highlighted the stupidity of the conference realignments. Visiting fans aren’t going cross country each week either
I am beginning to think College Football has a bit of an attendance problem brewing. Look at the thread below to see the crowds yesterday at Oklahoma, Penn State, UCLA, TCU, Maryland, SDSU, and FSU. 🤯 What is the main cause? Unrealistic expectations? Economy? Apathy? Halloween? 🧵👇🏼

The restaurant biz is just way too brutal not to be highly optimized… open tables on a Friday night is the last thing you want
Genuinely think that Resy and OpenTable have ruined the restaurant scene in many cities, including NYC Impossible to walk into a great restaurant and be pleasantly surprised. Unless you are making plans weeks ahead of time, you will never find a seat Social media obviously also has a lot to do with it too. Every decent place now has massive lines in front of it. There is no sense of hidden gems that only locals know about Feels like the spontaneous experience of dining no longer exists

Pretty cool to see it broken down by grade like this. Getting hit by trends put in motion 5-10 years ago. But a tough mess to manage for them
Portland Public Schools updated its enrollment figures this week. Here are the trends by grade level.

Hilarious how far the original premise of crypto has fallen “The Clarity Act would have given crypto firms legal cover to freeze suspicious transactions the instant law enforcement calls”
Yesterday, hackers stole more than $6 billion from Binance in less than 4 hours, the biggest heist in history. The Clarity Act would have given crypto firms legal cover to freeze suspicious transactions the instant law enforcement calls. Every minute lost is money gone for good.

Amazing chart from Adam Farrar of Bloomberg @economics. Assuming the Binance hack was done by the North Koreans, as alleged by @trmlabs, then the country just captured 75% of its total 2025 revenue in the span of just 20 minutes

The NBA feels good about viewership trends (gambling apps) but the on-court product has never been worse for regular season viewing. You can leave early and beat traffic for 25% of the games

The league has gotten involved in numerous betting scandals that have corrupted the game. Best to double down though teapawt.net/MikeVorkunov/status/21…
The Philadelphia 76ers have struck a multi-year deal with Kalshi to make Kalshi its official prediction market partner. Sixers say they're the 1st NBA team to name an official prediction market partner, and are following in the footsteps of the NBA's deals this week.

Boring ole Intel down 55% from its June high. Seems like market overshot that one a bit

The market value of these 4,400 beer cans will be absurd
JUST IN: Miller Lite says it took beer that was on the line at 10:13 pm CT, when the Brewers won it all, and put it special "Clinch Cans." 4,400 cans will be available online starting 11/2.

Good time to go to market, but yeah still probably early innings here considering the models just became reliable in June
New: spending on Anthropic models on OpenRouter hit a new peak last week, up 47% from the summer high during the week of June 8. Opus 5.5 was the top model by spend over the last 7 days across 20 of the 29 task categories we currently track. openrouter.ai/rankings#task-…

You could land this in a yard. Sign me up
An airplane just landed at a heliport. In lower Manhattan. That is the @ElectraAero EL-2, the ultra-short takeoff and landing prototype aircraft. CEO Marc Allen said Monday it was the first time the manufacturer has shown the EL2’s capabilities publicly in such an environment. There is a very specific reason Tesla isn't attempting the robotaxi sham in CA
Waymo is adding nearly 250 square miles to its driverless ride-hailing service across 5 existing U.S. markets over the next week. Los Angeles: Expanding along the coast into the South Bay, including Torrance. San Diego: Extending north to La Jolla, adding destinations including UC San Diego, the VA, and University Town Center. Nashville: Expanding farther south, including access to Nashville Zoo. Orlando: Nearly doubling its coverage in the east, alongside improved downtown service. San Francisco Bay Area: Adding coverage farther south, including a new connection to Berryessa BART Station. The rollout expands where existing riders can travel, rather than launching in five new cities.

In the last few months, I've noticed an uptick in Uber drivers telling me how much they are earning on the ride.. seems like an effort to generate extra tip $$ they've all picked up on
i’m deleting @Uber and moving to @Waymo absolutely today, my uber driver told me he has four children living in a garage, and that of the $30 i paid for the ride, he was only getting $7. it’s the 5th time an uber driver has confronted me about tipping him in cash. this time, he pointed to my diamond earrings and trench coat as evidence that i could obviously afford to pay him more. it’s an astonishing masterclass in incentive design! make the worker desperate enough to go outside their boundaries, make the customer guilty enough to give in, and the company gets off scot-free. these are deeply uncomfortable situations for customers to be put in. i empathize with the drivers, but being put on the spot and made to feel personally responsible for someone else’s livelihood is a difficult position to be in.
