Millions have replaced passwords with passkeys.
But what exactly is a passkey, and why is it more secure?
Here’s everything explained - including how you can use it to claim testnet tokens on L2 Faucet without complicated onboarding flows:
🧵👇
Fusaka is activating on Ethereum testnets. Here’s what you need to know about the upgrade, Holesky’s timeline, and what it means for L2 Faucet support.
Fusaka activation:
✦ Holesky: Oct 1, 2025 (slot 5,283,840)
✦ Sepolia: Oct 14, 2025
✦ Hoodi: Oct 28, 2025
Key updates:
✧ PeerDAS (EIP-7594): data availability sampling → more blobs, cheaper L2 txs
✧ Blob Parameter Only forks: gradual increases to blob limits
✧ L1 scaling: ModExp optimizations, tx gas cap, 60M gas limit
✧ UX improvements: secp256r1 precompile, CLZ opcode
Important: Holesky will retire approximately two weeks later after the Fusaka upgrade.
L2 Faucet will continue supporting Holesky only until its shutdown. After that, testnet ETH distribution will focus on Hoodi and Sepolia.

One machine, one human.
We verify your machine’s authenticity to anchor trust and enable fair distribution of testnet tokens.

Sybils ruin fair distribution mechanics.
They hide among real users but seek to mass extract resources.
Proof of Machinehood makes protocols Sybil-resistant by requiring users to prove the authenticity of their machine.
Passkeys are the most egalitarian thing we've ever seen. It's insanely ambitious, and if it works, can really reshape the fabric of society.
How many hours of your life have you wasted on solving captchas?
There needs to be a faster way to prove that we're not a bot.
Attesting the authenticity of your device can be done in seconds to receive testnet tokens on L2s.

Ethereum testnets are everywhere.
But each one serves a different purpose.
Here’s what you need to know about Sepolia, Holesky, and Hoodi (without the fluff):
✴︎ Sepolia
Used to test applications and smart contracts
✴︎ Holesky
Protocol-level testing and staking, planned to be deprecated in September 2025
✴︎ Hoodi
To replace Holesky as the main environment for testing Ethereum upgrades
But where can we get testnet tokens on these chains?
