We lost one of the greats of stage and screen today. And, in my book, a tremendous friend and man. I learned so much from him. I will miss you, Patrick Stewart, all of my days. @mang0ld

Because stortytelling STARTS from the cuts to the end of post-production. Even the simplest thing like cutting IS a base of your editing style that leads and builds up to the finished product.
Relying on AI will make your content repetitive, empty, and it will keep doing the same thing again and again.
Human choices and decisions is what seperates art from an AI product.
Editors make creative choices based on emotion, experience (personal AND common), and an understanding of how to connect with an audience.
That's what makes storytelling effective. It's not just about putting clips together. It's about creating an experience that appeals to ethos, pathos, and logos.
AI lacks pathos, and thus why it will never replace human made experiences.
Specifically, cutting differs from editor to editor too. Editors cut and structure in different ways as well. I've never asked another editor to cut things for me either bc I think about the editing part of the process AS I cut.
I love observing and staying present with any project I'm working on instead of thinking about the x amount of other projects I have lined up. Of course, everyone has their own workflow, and that's completely subjective. It's simply how I prefer to approach my work.
It would also feel incredibly contradictory AND performative for me to constantly preach abt storytelling, creativity, and the artistry behind editing (and design recently), only to turn around and rely on AI tools to shortcut even the simplest parts of the process.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.
Spends the first minutes talking about how interesting and diverse the editing process can be to then immediately say “yeah I just tell chatgpt to do it now” is so sad man, passion and enthusiasm for art is withering away in front of our eyes

Peter Cullen was one of my childhood heroes. Someone who's voice I heard every weekend watching Saturday morning cartoons.
They say never to meet your heroes. Well I met Peter, and was fortunate to work with him for years. He exceeded every preconceived notion I had of him. He was a funny, massively talented, kind, gentle soul, and I'm lucky to have called him friend (and Optimus)
Rest easy, Peter. We'll miss you ❤️

Thank you Peter Cullen. RIP
