"Well Scott Summers aka Cyclops projects a red shifted beam of raw kinetic energy from the kinetic dimension via his eyes and has to use a Ruby Quartz visor to control it due to a head injury as a child."
Just saying it's laser eyes is far better. To hell with the kinetic crap.
Was reminded of the 2003 Greg Rucka and Darrick Robertson Wolverine series that epitomizes the "Vertigo-ifcation" of Marvel. Also that was a title I dropped quickly, as it was so dull.
I watched "Planet of the Vampires" for the first time last night, and it was great.
Dan O'Bannon really took to it, I can see this movie in Lifeforce, Return of the Living Dead, and especially Alien with the giant dead alien.
With all that's going on in France, seeing Japanese posts in my timeline I noticed something, if the post isn't autotranslated from Japanese to English it's often quite brutal.
Basic Training in Comics Color 101 from Chris Lichtner and Aron Lusen from Liquid! Graphics
The "photo realistic" coloring on the fourth page(fig. H) is what I have come to be disgusted by the coloring of the last 26 years.
From Wizard #100(Jan. 2000)
It's a toss up as to what's worse. The "Smallville" game pitched as "Final Fantasy meets Metal Gear Solid" or the Pat Lee interview on the Devil May Cry comic where he describes the comic as "The Matrix meets Lord of the Rings."
Ugh.
from Wizard #148(Feb. 2004)
This feels like it's from 50 years ago and it's only been 24.
The Britany Spears/Eminem comic from Wizard #134(Nov. 2002) article "Comics We Wanna See" art by J. Scott Campbell.
The threats of Hollywood to turn anime into live action films, thankfully of those on the list one two happened. Battle Angel Alita which I have not seen, and the Dragon Ball(Z) movie which I did, and wish I could have my time back. It wasn't even funny bad.
Captain America #1 predates the attack on Pearl Harbor by close to a year, this "in continuity" retcon takes place after the attack. All those brought into Marvel, were just willfully ignorant of what came before.
