My dad's (Hank deLespinasse, 1943-2017) first Sports Illustrated cover photo will always be my favorite.

Sad to hear of the demise of Sports Illustrated. How the mighty have fallen. My dad worked for them as a freelance photographer in the late 1970s, and had 3 covers to his credit. Pretty sure the "King of the Mountain at Last" cover funded our Christmas in 1976. RIP SI

The Westward Ho was advertised as "The World's Largest Motel". It had 777 rooms. It closed in 2005. When demolished they had to take down 27 total buildings.
