The worst kind of disappointment is that Gaza has turned from a cause that shook the conscience of the world into a forgotten tragedy,
living in oppression alone, while everyone continues their lives as if nothing happened

Last night was one of the worst nights Gaza has seen. The bombs have never stopped raining down on them, and when the actual rain fell upon them, their tents flooded. So many missing limbs, all missing loved ones, most without homes. And the world just pretended it stopped. I didn’t even post an image with people this time because they’re sick of showing us images of themselves in desperation without action on our part. A reminder to you and me to not forget them because they’re no longer in your feed.

It’s hard to grasp the BBC’s systematic attempt to launder Israeli propaganda until you see the sheer scale of it. Here's a compilation of them doing it at 2x speed.
The latest was on Newsnight on 4 November. When Bernie Sanders called Israel’s government extremist, Victoria Derbyshire answered for it: “And the Israeli government would deny that they are extremists.”
As this video shows, BBC presenters repeatedly do this as guests describe Israel’s crimes: “Israel would say.” “Israel would deny.” “They would reject that.”
We counted 70 of these denials and justifications in 52 aired interviews. The BBC calls this impartiality. But in not one of those 52 did a presenter raise any of these words from Israel’s own leaders:
- “We are fighting human animals.” Yoav Gallant, 9 October 2023
- “It is an entire nation out there that is responsible.” Isaac Herzog, 12 October 2023
- “They will not receive a drop of water or a single battery until they leave the world.” Israel Katz, 13 October 2023
- “Remember what Amalek did to you.” Benjamin Netanyahu, 3 November 2023
- Starving two million people in Gaza until the hostages came back might be “justified and moral”. Bezalel Smotrich, 5 August 2024
On 10 October 2023, Tahani Mustafa told the BBC that Israeli forces were not distinguishing civilians from fighters. The presenter replied: “They would reject that.” Mustafa then had to bring up Gallant’s “human animals” herself. The BBC supplied the denial. The guest had to supply Israel’s own words.
That is cherry-picking. The Royal Charter requires the BBC to be impartial, and the public pays for it through the licence fee. In these interviews, it handed its audience Israel’s denials and left out its leaders’ own words, during a genocide streamed live to the world.
We have archived the BBC’s coverage for three years, and we are now counting all of it: 50,000 video clips and many more written excerpts.
We are calling this first part: "BBC: The Would Say Files".
Handing Israel its denials is only one of the ways the BBC launders Israeli propaganda, so we will count every other technique too. Over the next few weeks, we will announce each milestone as we complete the report.
These are the first results, with every clip, quote and source: newscord.org/editorials/bbc-…

Ian Winter KC reports himself to the Bar Standards Board for confronting a journalist after Brand's rape conviction. What about his courtroom conduct? Inviting jurors to question why women didn't scream, resist or report sooner. These rape myths deserve regulatory scrutiny too.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT: Today's decision by @CAgovernor @GavinNewsom to commute California's death row is the single largest grant of death-row clemency in U.S. history and the largest reduction in the U.S. death-row population since Furman v. Georgia struck down all existing death penalty statutes in 1972.
Furman vacated the death sentences of 630 prisoners across the United States. Today's proposed grant of universal clemency will remove 538 people from death row.
The next largest reduction in the U.S. death row population came in 1976 when the U.S. Supreme Court declared mandatory death penalty statutes to be unconstitutional. Those rulings, in Woodson v. North Carolina and Roberts v. Louisiana, took 326 people in ten states off death row.
Governor Newsom's grant of universal clemency surpasses President Lincoln's commutation of 264 Dakota tribesmen after the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862 as the largest single act of death-penalty clemency. Lincoln's commutations, however, still left 39 death sentences in place, leading to the largest mass execution in U.S. history.
Previously, the largest modern grant of death-row clemency was on January 10 and 11, 2003 when Illinois Governor George Ryan pardoned four death-row prisoners and commuted the death sentences of 167 others, clearing the state's death row and leading to the state's subsequent abolition of the death penalty on March 9, 2011.

1 in 4 women in the UK have been raped or sexually assaulted since the age of 16
6 in 7 rapes against women in the UK are carried out by someone they know
5 in 6 women who are raped in the UK don’t report it to the police
Fewer than 3 in 100 rapes recorded by UK police in 2024 resulted in someone being charged that same year
It is an abhorrent crime committed by cowards. Every perpetrator put in prison is a blessing.
Russell Brand found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault bbc.in/4ip1NNA
