Interested in Na+ channels and pain?
Come talk to Stephanie at #SfN2024 about our recent work showing that different Nav channel combinations can yield similar excitability in nociceptors!
🟡 Monday 8-12pm at 165.18
I’m at #SfN2024 presenting my latest work on spinal receptive fields and pain.
We show that spatially and temporally disorganized stimuli preferentially activates inhibition!
Come chat about the implications for therapeutic neuromodulation on Sunday from 1-5pm at 112.01 🤩
Thanks @CEEA_ACEG for the opportunity to share the USRP program at @UofTEngineering. A bigger thanks to @KilkennyDawn for letting me be a part of this awesome program. 🎉

On route to @CEEA_ACEG in Edmonton! ✈️🏔️ I will be giving a talk on my latest work with @KilkennyDawn at @UofTEngineering on our development of USRP – a support program for Undergraduate Engineers doing summer research at @UofT. #CEEA2024
I’m presenting on spatiotemporal processing and spinal receptive fields tomorrow at #CAN2024 🔘
Stop by P3-D-439 for a lil’ neural coding!

Check out this great summary of our latest work in @NeuroCellPress on high-frequency #SpinalCordStimulation. ⚡️ Thanks @MCapogrosso and @scott_lempka!
Together with an Evan Roger and @scott_lempka we published today a preview to the beautiful work from @PrescottLab detailing the effects of High-Frequency spinal cord stimulation on sensory axons! We need more of these works in the field! #neurotech authors.elsevier.com/a/1iZ6Z…
Our latest #preprint on touch encoding in rodent mechanoreceptors is out now! 👈

Many thanks to the huge, collaborative effort from the @PrescottLab that spans (most of) my PhD! 🥳(@Chris_Dedek @AHalawa99 @SickKidsNews @bme_uoft) (1/4)
This #heterogeneity in RA tuning suggests that co-activation patterns play a greater role in #populationcoding in rodents than other dichotomously tuned species. 🐁 (4/4)

20 years ago, Chesler et al. showed that the greatest source of variability in evoked pain responses was the experimenter. This is at the core of poor reproducibility. @chris_dedek built @RAMalgoTheRobot to fix that. 🤖
