My beloved Arsenal-supporting dad sadly died in the early hours. He fought bravely after breaking his hip & getting pneumonia before Christmas. Having witnessed the kindness and care shown by the NHS I’d like to thank all the nurses & doctors for their professionalism. RIP Dad 💔 – at East, England

Yes, United were abject but why are people surprised by the margin of Bournemouth’s win at Old Trafford. Tyler Adams is the captain of the US national team, Adrien Truffert is getting minutes for France, Rayan scored for Brazil last month and that’s without mentioning the talents of players such as Evanilson, Kluivert and Gannon-Doak let alone when new England international Alex Scott returns from injury. The Cherries deserve as much respect today as the wretched Glazers and Ratcliffe deserve derision

Layth retweeted
Man United with one of the worst ownership combos: American capitalists piling debt onto the club and a right-wing British billionaire out of his depth.
Lots of chanting against Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

What an incredible victory by Pakistan over England. Credit to Shadab for making it the highest ninth wicket stand in a winning ODI match with his unbeaten century

Make that three to win now…
Some finish in the Pakistan vs England ODI. Incredible last wicket stand by Shadab aided by Rauf. They needed 88 with nine down and are now a mere nine runs away from achieving it…

So. Leaders Arsenal end the weekend five points clear at the top of the Premier League after second place Brighton lost to Liverpool who move up to third. Look forward to being in the away end at Anfield when first plays third next Sunday

What a finish by Evanilson. Carrick will surely take the fall if not today then soon but the rot started at Manchester United the day Fergie tried to take on Coolmore with Rock of Gibraltar’s stud fees that prompted John Magnier to sell to the Glazers

Right. That’s me done after Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 here at the Emirates. Now for date night in the West End after being away in Munich all week. Mind you I might need a canoe to get there with all the rain. Enjoy your Saturday night, see you at Fleetwood, cheers

FT: Arsenal 2-0 Everton. Goals from Gunners centre-backs Ezri Konsa and Gabriel sink the visitors on a wet day. See @M_Star_Online newspaper and my @Substack Layth’s Take for my Premier League reaction

Good old PGMOL or whatever it is they're called these days as referee Tony Harrington slowly walks half the pitch to hand out a yellow card to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. What is it they say about the best refs being invisible...not this one...as the crowd sing: 'You don't know what you're doing...'

Not sure why there is a large block of empty seats near the halfway line and has been all game. Surely those passionate corporate fans were given umbrellas as part of their deal. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s what happens when you give up prime seating to those who don’t fancy it on a rainy day…
