Religion is part of culture. Stop blaming religion for what is ultimately a racial problem, just because you’re still too afraid of being called racist. As many have pointed out, this is an impossibility. You can only exist as the product of your ancestors. If you were not born as the person you are, you would have no existence at all.
But why?
The ancient conception of what a soul is was nothing like the modern Christian idea that everyone has an immortal soul, which is a relatively recent invention.
The immortal part of the soul (perhaps more correctly called spirit) is not something everyone has and is certainly not something everyone is born with. It is something that must be cultivated through spiritual practice and only a minority of people achieve this.
But we do all have an animating consciousness and this is what many people mistakenly assume is the entirety of the soul. This part of the soul is linked to your ancestral stock, your "totem", and is a almost a type of collective soul that you share with others of your stock.
This soul is really just a collection of conditioned traits and certain traits predominate more or less within different stocks.
Imagine that this collective soul is a mass of clay. As each new individual body is born to that stock, we can imagine moulded figures rising up out of the clay, but with their feet still firmly grounded in it. They appear to be individuals, but their roots are collectively shared and is really just an emanation of the same one thing. (As an aside, this is why most people are NPCs- they have no other soul besides the collective one.)
Your soul can only come from your stock and your physical body is merely a manifestation of this collective soul. When you die, this part of you will not live on eternally in some kind of heaven where you retain all your personality traits, but will be returned to the stock and absorbed, to be doled out again and again to new physical bodies that only people of that stock can create.
The only people who can be born Haitian are those who have manifested from the Haitian collective soul. A German soul can only manifest in a German body. A Japanese soul can only manifest in a Japanese body. A Greek soul can only manifest in a Greek body.
Souls do not come from some distribution centre in the ether that is waiting for the next body to become available.
