I grew up in south Florida so I absolutely understand. And Black Americans voted exactly as they should have.
There are Americans with loved ones in Palestine and Lebanon. The weapons used in Gaza end up being used against Black Americans. When militarized police terrorized Black ppl in Ferguson (under a Dem president!) Palestine extended support. I can’t say what is more important.

Americans don't live in Palestine, that genocide will continue and people black people will lose the only protections legally they have left, that's more important right now

Perhaps? Since there was no solidarity on the basis of shared humanity, maybe there will be forced solidarity in the face of a shared enemy.
It is all a heartbreaking shame.

With respect, genocide is already perpetual hell. There are no legal protections when people are being murdered with impunity.
But now those who could comfortably ignore the genocide are upset that they will suffer as well.
If neither candidate was going to stop their pain, what (collective) you were really asking is for them to vote to prevent your own pain but tolerate their own. I cannot fault anyone who rejected such a cruel demand.
The “under Kamala we’ll be allowed to protest” rhetoric is a bit concerning in retrospect. Please know that Power will never “allow” you to effectively dismantle it. The goal should never be simply protesting. Fight to win.

Correct. Therefore many people simply chose not to vote for either one.

No, deadass. I need all you with some sense to digest this, because this much is evident:
At some point the Dem strategists very deliberately decided that losing on Zionism was better than giving even an inch to anti-Zionism.
The Dems were already delivering on that promise. Land in Palestine was already being sold for development. We watched them burn people alive in a hospital. We watched death marches to mass graves. There is nothing worse. But now it’ll be bad for Americans too.

Trump wasn’t vowing to stop the genocide. He was implying Gaza should be reduced to a big parking lot.

And what did Kamala promise?
Couldn’t even say “we will not send them more bombs” as an empty campaign promise just to “get out the vote”. The utter contempt for the will and well-being of the people, must be strategic.
All compassion to the people. NONE to the Dems who love to lose as a fundraising strategy.
Trying to build a big tent and broad coalition in 100 days, getting endorsements from CHENEY, but “stop funding murder” is the compromise you refuse to make?
Let’s be honest. There’s nothing worse than genocide. When people say “Trump will be worse” the “for me” was implied. So guess things are just bad for everyone now huh?
