To those who opposed a clear reference to phase out of fossil fuels during the #COP28 Climate Conference, I want to say:
Whether you like it or not, fossil fuel phase out is inevitable. Let’s hope it doesn’t come too late.

We are into the final days at #COP28 and it’s all to play for.
To phase out fossil fuels we have to phase up renewables - particularly in the developing world - and phase in the financing and investment that is needed to drive the transition - fast and at scale. #ClimateFinance

It's not my country's government and I don't get a say but it is shocking to observe from across the water. such policies makes us all ask what could be put on the table here at home in future, under other powers.
A Goverment of sadists “who want to beat up some of the most vulnerable & traumatised people on earth in order to distract attention from the Goverment’s own failures” @GeorgeMonbiot 🙏👏#RwandaBill

The COP process is broken - broken *by design*. Can it be fixed, or should it be bypassed altogether? I explore some options.

❝ Unmanaged climate changes have the potential to be highly politically disruptive. Who do you think people will look to if their homes are washed away, or their businesses ruined, or farms destroyed, or they can’t drink the water, if not the government?
