Such a phenomenal douche. Our allies fought and died next to us. I spent a butt load of time in Afghanistan (in far worse circumstances than this performative clown) and the only comment to our allies is “thank you.” That’s it. Heartfelt. Thank you. Also, he’s addressing ROTC students with this horseshit. That is just plain dangerous. Our next generation cannot be taught such BS.
Hegseth on Afghanistan: I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters. It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there. Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations. In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."

Over 1100 non-American soldiers from 31 US-allied countries were killed fighting in Afghanistan, approximately 1/3 of the total combat deaths. t.co/x4tGhxJiFG

It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the Ditka family has announced the passing of Mike Ditka this morning. Da Coach. Hall of Famer. The heartbeat of the ’85 Bears and a Super Bowl champion. Chicago won’t be the same. Prayers to Diana and the family. RIP, Coach. 🐻⬇️ Here’s a statement from the family: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka. While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family. Mike will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever. With love and gratitude, The Ditka Family

I hav no problem with the death penalty, but making it public is not something we should do. Sec of Burpees thinks this makes us look tough, but it does not. It has zero deterrent value as well, none. Terrorists in fact would welcome such a public death as martyrs to the cause. If anything, it’s a recruiting tool. Hegseth knows nothing about CT or the terrorist ideology and mindset. Finally, this is not what a civilized nation does. We r not chop chop square in Riyadh. Execute him? Yes. Publicly, no.
BREAKING: Pete Hegseth announces the firing squad execution of Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan will be made public on December 3, at the same location where he carried out the massacre.

Your office pantry can restock itself. @andyfang on how one developer used the DoorDash CLI with a camera tracking their pantry supplies to automatically reorder what’s running low. Experiment with dd-cli here: developer.doordash.com/mcp @saranormous @nopriorspod

Looking forward to this.
This is DoorDash Air. As a pilot, I can tell you that you wouldn’t build a plane and then ask if it can carry cargo. So we built @DoorDash Air from the ground up, designed around what 13 years of deliveries have taught us: what people order, how much it weighs, and how far it has to travel. Our drones are as silent as a passing car and early tests show that we’ve gotten flight delivery times in under ~5 mins on average, so you can get your @chipotletweets & @popeyes (our first partners) and local favorites right to you, fast. The first deliveries will be in NorCal. We proved autonomy works on the ground. Now see how it works in the sky.

Starship Flight 14 launch and orbit was a success, but what did the launch sound and feel like form Port Isabel, about 5 miles away? Here is a visual & audio experience almost as good as being there! If you haven't been to a Starship launch, you really need to plan a trip! @esherifftv Sound UP!

Amazing
In 12 weeks, we built a research facility that is run entirely by AI. AI designs, executes, and observes experiments end-to-end across biology, chemistry, and materials science. We’re introducing SciUniverse: a benchmark that measures AI’s ability to do real-world scientific research.

Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017: "I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."
