Universal masking and social distancing at the start of the pandemic were so effective that they eliminated a strain of flu, and now annual flu vaccines have been redesigned because that strain no longer needs to be included in the shot. Amazing.

“The American Medical Association’s top journal, JAMA, in August published a key new study and editorial about pediatric #LongCovid. The editorial cites several robust analyses and concludes that.. LC symptoms appear to occur after about 10-20% of pediatric infections.”

The Feds are ending a lot of key reporting for monitoring COVID-19 in the United States. Congress voted to end the emergency declaration of COVID-19 and reporting for hospitals and other key agencies stopped May 1. What we DO KNOW is: 22,222 Americans have died from COVID-19 this year 2,571 of them were from Florida (11.6% of deaths; Florida is only 6.4% of the US population) Florida had 149,444 first-time infections so far this year. That means that roughly 1 in 50 people who test positive for COVID for the first time are still dying from the disease. Florida has the highest rate of COVID-19 deaths in the country BY FAR. covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tra…

We have some estimates. 27 million is the last figure I saw. We also have the disabled workforce data. While it doesn’t say specifically due to COVID, you tell me if it is based on this chart:

Important to acknowledge the ongoing death count. I wish that there was also better real-time monitoring of how many have been disabled by COVID, too. That would give a better sense of the entire toll this disease continues to take.
1,202 Americans were killed by C0VlD last week according to the official state-reported totals. It is the 29th straight week with more than 1,000 deaths. The repeated lie that C0VlD is over and mild has killed nearly 25,000 Americans just in 2024.

The Israeli government has been holding Palestinian human rights lawyer Diala Ayesh hostage for 2 months. She was kidnapped on 17 January 2024. Her crime: she was a lawyer defending the rights of other Palestinians hostages, known as "administrative detainees" by Israel. Ayesh is one of at least 3,484 Palestinians taken hostage by the state of Israel. I use the word hostage because Diala Ayesh was not told why she was taken. She has not been charged w/anything. Her imprisonment is renewable, indefinitely. And she was taken, like many other Palestinians, to be used as a bargaining chip in hostage negotiations. If you are calling for the release of the hostages, but only the Israeli hostages, not the Palestinian hostages, you are contributing to the dehumanization of the Palestinian people. #BringThemHome source of the count of hostages taken by Israel: middleeastmonitor.com/202403…
