Many journalists are relying on the report by the @OAS_official on the Brazilian presidential election runoff to justify why the outcome should be accepted as is. The OAS report deserves to be read carefully—especially before anyone presents it as a definitive forensic answer to the Zanin Window in Brazil’s election night processing. The OAS mission was actually quite critical of the last minute Zanin Window extension and the confusion it caused. The report does not publish a forensic reconstruction of the processing pause during the Zanin Window and does not address which systems changed, who accessed them, whether result files were replaced, or how independently preserved polling station tallies were reconciled with the final totals. Its account of continued regional transmission also relies on information supplied by TSE technical staff. The report does not provide the underlying records needed to reconstruct each stage independently. These limits mean the report does not decisively resolve the allegation of manipulation during the Zanin Window. What needs to happen to have confidence in the integrity of the election, which Lula badly needs if he actually won and he is to have legitimacy to govern, is to preserve the records and commission an independent technical audit with Brazilian and international forensic experts. Publish the methods, the comparisons, the discrepancies and their explanations. oas.org/fpdb/press/2026_EOM_…

What could an independent audit actually uncover about the Zanin Window? Consider a hypothetical candidate named Lolo with privileged technical access. Lolo might attempt to substitute section results, alter aggregation records or interfere with which results were accepted. Those attempts would have to overcome safeguards and survive comparison with authentic local tallies. The Zanin Window itself would not grant that access. Nor would it erase the printed Boletins de Urna already held outside central custody. That gives investigators a concrete test. You could compare independently preserved originals with signed electronic files, every accepted or replaced version, and the published totals. Examine administrative access and changes before, during and after the interruption. A separate hypothesis—compromised machine software before local tallies were generated—requires different testing and would not depend on the Zanin Window. An independent audit with international experts and observers should establish whether any records changed without justification, whether safeguards held, and whether any discrepancy could affect the outcome. The audit must be capable of exposing manipulation—and of clearing the system if the records support it.

In this alternative reality, the opposition leader who is out of power fleeing into exile, and the father who is in prison are the authoritarians. And the guy who controls all security forces of the state, the electoral system, and largely the media through state subsidies, and who ordered a travel ban on his opponent within seven minutes of being declared the winner of the presidential election after having his former lawyer acting as judge extend the closure of the polls and suspend the counting for two hours is the democratic man representing the will of the people. Please follow @AOC for more daily comedy and satire.
Yesterday, Brazil showed the world that the will of the people is stronger than the authoritarians who try to suppress it. Congratulations President @LulaOficial and congratulations Brazil.

E ninguém vai me convencer do contrário.

Os caras arquitetaram um golpe na cara dura. Criaram um problema colocando adesivos politicos em ônibus, para justificar a intromissão do EX-ADVOGADO DO LULA na eleição e magicamente inflar os votos no Lula.

Nikolas Ferreira, the 30 year old federal deputy from Minas Gerais who just became the most voted congressman in Brazilian history with over 3.1 million votes, is about to have his passport revoked and be banned from leaving the country. Of course, he’s a right-winger and the Communists now wish to destroy him. He was elected city councilor in 2020 with the second highest total ever in the capital, then federal deputy in 2022 with 1.49 million votes. Reelected in 2026 by doubling that number. Social media giant. Conservative Christian. Family, free markets, liberty. One of the biggest voices on the Brazilian right. They’re citing a 2024 “injúria” case over comments about Lula and calling bolsonarismo a “gangue” as the reason for the seizure. This is pure lawfare. Steal an election, then go after the most popular young right wing deputy in the country before he can even speak. This election “victory” has the Communists more emboldened than ever. Brazil is the new Venezuela. Moraes and Lula are the new Maduro. Maybe even worse.
