The Guardian has a heck of a lot to answer for.

What a damning indictment of Britains inability to build things. I will be long retired by 2043.
HS2 trains could be serving London Euston by 2043, with trains running between Old Oak Common and Curzon Street from 2036. Meanwhile, tracklaying should start between the West London station and the Midlands from April 2030 says HS2 Ltd CEO Mark Wild modernrailways.com/article/h…

Russell Brand, Jimmy Savile, those men told us exactly who they were while some looked away and pretended they were just lads, or talented, or cute boys. They didn’t hide in plain sight, they operated in plain sight.

Almost probably the most expensive Indian food on earth, have been a couple of times!
Veeraswamy, the famous century-old Indian restaurant in Regent Street, London, begins its court battle today against the Crown Estate, the King’s property manager, which wants to force it to move. Veeraswamy offers some of the best Indian cooking anywhere on earth.

“It’s only when the tide goes out that you learn who’s been swimming naked” (Warren Buffet). There’ll be some twitchy retail investors out there who have over leveraged themselves.
What just happened? The Nasdaq 100 just posted its largest daily drop since the 2020 Pandemic, with the S&P 500 erasing -$3 trillion today. Just 24 hours ago, the Dow surged +1,600 points after the Democrats "swept" the Midterms. So, what changed? Let us explain. (a thread)

I don't want to shame any particular woman here, but publicly announcing that the #RussellBrand conviction must be wrong because you went home with him and he didn't rape you makes about as much sense as saying 'well, I left 25 Cromwell Street alive, so Fred West's innocent.'

On days like today, diversification matters. Beer, whisky, vodka, wine and tequila have all helped me forget about my portfolio.

A broken clock is occasionally right.
I watched Russell Brand @rustyrockets on the @jimmyfallon show the other night—what the hell do people see in Russell—a major loser!

BREAKING: The S&P 500 has now erased -$2.2 trillion over the last 55 minutes. Today's decline is now double the size of yesterday's post-election rally. The Nasdaq 100 is ~6% away from a bear market.
Absolute insanity. In just 40 minutes, the S&P 500 has now erased -$2 trillion in market cap. The entire post-Midterm Election rally has been erased in a matter of minutes. This is one of the fastest market cap losses in stock market history.

Time to talk more publicly about poor communication skills of some of our foreign carers and its impact on quality of elder care, a sensitive issue but a lot of strong feeling out there. My Telegraph piece, grew out of a recent tweet on the ILR climbdown. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11…

Worth remembering re the BoE move, that it's mostly about oil/energy costs, and the last two days have seen those change rapidly. Note too though that it highlights UK's ridiculous energy fragility - your mortgage is rising because our MPs refuse to prioritise energy security.

Chris Gibb tells RIA conference that the next few weeks will see HS2 rolling stock order details confirmed. This will “set in stone” West Coast services for next 50 years. But where’s the debate, the consultation? Sounds like DfT is simply imposing its view come what may.
