Nothing screams “Energy Independence” quite like making it illegal to drill for your own oil and gas while happily importing the stuff from Norway and the US - then locking the ban in so future governments need a full parliamentary majority to reverse your masterclass in self-sabotage.

I genuinely find it terrifying we’re hurtling towards more & more socialism. Having spent 10yrs touring & racing in countries behind the iron curtain in my teens I can tell you categorically & truthfully those people were desperate to get out of Socialism
Exactly!
When I grew up in Communist China, I was surrounded by completely brainwashed people, including myself.
Now in the US, I’m surrounded by people even more brainwashed than the communists I grew up with in China.
Communism thrives on a dumbed-down population. And the dumbing down is systematically carried out through schools, the media, and Hollywood!

A brief explanation for those with no knowledge of Polish politics:
A year ago, the Polish people elected a conservative president, Karol Nawrocki.
Poland currently has a left-liberal government, which, however, does not yet control the courts.
Tusk government is attempting to take illegal control of the courts in order to undermine the election of President Nawrocki.
Only in this way can Tusk secure absolute power for himself. Tusk knows he will lose the 2027 elections, so he is attempting to undermine the state’s constitutional order and to remove a president beloved by the Polish people.
This is literally a war of cynicism and evil against sincerity, the voice of the people, and goodness.
Pray for Poland and president Nawrocki.

A lot of people asking whether they should stock up on emergency supplies. The answer is quite obviously that you should. There is absolutely no downside to being prepared and massive downside to not being prepared. We’ve already seen global lockdowns, runs on necessary supplies, and mass rioting. That was just a few years ago. If you’re trying to convince yourself that something like that won’t happen again — and maybe a lot worse this time around — you should stop. Be prepared. There is no rational argument against preparation. Will anything catastrophic actually happen soon? I have no clue. There are enough signals to take the possibility seriously. Way better to err on the side of caution with these things.

Patrick Stewart. Turned up so early and so unobtrusively to be a star in the reasonably priced car, we mistook him for a delivery driver and asked him to go round the back. Took his hat off and said, “But I’m the captain of the Enterprise”. Fucking nice guy.

Er … it looks like we have a hostage situation!
It seems the Government isn’t in control at all. Back benchers want to keep their cushy jobs more than they want survival of the economy.
Greed and stupidity will send us off a cliff led by the PM who is weak, ineffectual and useless.
This isn’t a surprise.
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

The NHS page is even stranger when you read it word for word.
It says some ultra-processed foods "can be included in a healthy diet," and the examples it gives are wholemeal sliced bread, higher fibre breakfast cereals and baked beans. Why does that matter? Read on...
The same page admits, "It's not known if ultra-processed foods are unhealthy due to the processing or because of the calories, fat, salt and sugar they contain."
So they don't know what makes these foods harmful, but they're sure the boxed cereal and sliced bread are fine. Then the page lists packaged meat as ultra-processed and warns you about red meat.
Bread and breakfast cereal are starch, and starch becomes sugar in your bloodstream. Read your labels. If a meat has no added sugar or corn syrup, it's food.
nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/ho…
The NHS has an official page on ultra-processed food.
It warns that ultra-processed food has been linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Ok. Then, a few lines later, it tells you which ultra-processed foods are fine to eat.
These are the ones it lists:
- Wholemeal sliced bread
- Wholegrain or higher fibre breakfast cereals
-Baked beans
The exact words are "Some ultra-processed foods can be included in a healthy diet."
So the factory loaf with emulsifiers and preservatives gets a free pass. The box of cereal gets a free pass. The tin of beans in sugary sauce gets a free pass.
And what does the same page warn you about? Processed and red meat.
The cereal is fine. The meat is the problem.
It even admits, in its own words, that "It's not known if ultra-processed foods are unhealthy due to the processing." They don't know, but they're sure your cornflakes are OK.
Funny how the foods that get the nod all come from the grain industry, isn't it.
If you want to know what your breakfast is really doing to you, get a fasting insulin and an HbA1c done after a few months of "higher fibre cereal." Then try steak and eggs and test again.
Cereal or eggs? Which one is the real health food?
