Google closed 353 vulnerabilities in Chrome 156.
Six are critical, including CVE-2026-113303 in WebRTC and CVE-2026-113279 in Accessibility. The announcement came on 20-21 October 2026.
Chrome now asks for permission before connecting to insecure HTTP sites. The setting is on by default for all users.
Update and restart Chrome. The fixes do not take effect until the browser restarts.

Yes. Chinese models are going to win. Not because they are better, but because they don't treat you like a person who can't take responsibility for what they do, or like a kid.
France's prime minister told the four main mobile operators to stand ready to block TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat for a few hours during the October 24 protests.
A letter dated 22 October from SΓ©bastien Lecornu, published by Blast, asked Orange, SFR, Free and Bouygues Telecom to prepare DNS filtering so access could be suspended without delay if urban violence returned.
X was added after the letter went out. The document cites no legal basis. Operators raised legal and technical doubts in a meeting the next day.
No order was issued and nothing was blocked.
The request stayed confidential and the government has not commented.
No internet, no freedom. We don't live in the 90s anymore. Internet is essential as of today to communicate freely. No reason to block it.
Another reason why closed ecosystems are bad.
βοΈ A tourist lost their Apple Watch charger in China, bought another at an Apple Store, and the US watch refused it as a "country-specific charger".
Apple says Chinese wireless chargers sold there only charge local models.
They cost CNΒ₯279, ~$42, and can't fast charge.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Chinese WPT regulations limit wireless charging frequencies to 100-148.5 kHz (and two other bands), excluding the 360 kHz of standard Qi2/MagSafe fast charging, so Apple sells slower country-specific compliant chargers in China that only work with local models.

Anthropic may have just klled REA.
Users are reporting that Claude now hits a safety check when asked to use REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) for detailed reverse-engineering work, even after completing the research.
REA itself is an open-source MCP tool that lets AI coding agents inspect software locally, trace how features work, and use that information to build compatible implementations

Google changed its privacy policy on 16 October. It no longer promises that content from Gmail, Photos and Drive stays out of personalised ads.
The old line was simple: Google does not show personalised ads based on that content. The new version adds an exception. It applies only if you choose to make the data available to other Google services that support personalised ads.
That choice is Personal Intelligence. It is the opt-in that lets Search and Gemini pull from connected Gmail, Drive and Photos so answers can use your own context. Once the connection is on, the same data can also shape which ads you see.
Google says advertisers never receive the private content itself. They see only the results of Googleβs processing. Ads are not based directly on your inbox or photo library. Sensitive categories remain excluded.
You can turn it off. Open Google Account, go to Data & privacy, then Personalization settings, then Manage Personalized Recommendations in Search Services, and disconnect the apps under Connected Content apps. Data already copied into Search history can stay.
Connecting free AI features to private files now carries an ad cost that used to be off the table.
Good for games, big embaras for Sony.
PS5 owners are now running PC games from Steam directly on the console, without streaming.
A project called Playden uses a Wine-based compatibility layer to run Windows games on jailbroken PS5 consoles.
Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Portal 2 and Dead Cells have already been shown running.
Playstation has no limits
Keep jailbreak ps5 firmware.
PS5 users are reporting that some physical games are asking for a system update before they can be played.
Several players have shown their consoles asking for an update when they try to launch games from a disc.
This is really concerning about physical games becoming dependent on PS5 firmware updates, even when players already own the disc.
That's good.
A new PS5 jailbreak called Prolapse is reportedly coming to firmware 14.00 and 14.10.
The exploit appears to be a new kernel-level vulnerability that gets around the fixes Sony introduced after the Relapse jailbreak. A researcher has now claimed that Prolapse is confirmed for 14.00/14.10 and will be released soon.
For comparison, the currently public Relapse jailbreak only goes up to PS5 firmware 13.60.
French knows their government is corrupted and mafios, and they wants and have the right to protect their freedom and privacy.
