The #Earlsfield #LocalLeveller is now live and accepting donations. We hope to raise £20,000
It aims to help those most in need by repurposing the Government #energy rebate donations from those who can afford to give some or all of the rebate.

We were featured on BBC news yesterday, in a piece about the rising demand for food banks. Many thanks to our guests and volunteers for taking part - it's so important that people see what's happening.

A foodbank guest just sent me this. Their housing association has just put up the weekly service charge by £10. That's over £40 per month.
The guest in question is already skipping meals and going without electricity. Where on earth will this money come from?

So good to have @STGHepatology with us today, providing Hep C checks for guests.

Great to have Brocklebank surgery at the food bank today, giving guests free health checks. They saw 20 guests in total - a real success!
Thanks to @WCENLondon for organising.
The temperatures are dropping again please help if you can, justgiving.com/fundraising/e…

My latest diary piece for @BigIssue about what we're seeing here at @EarlsfieldFood2 . And we're not alone - last week's call with other @IFAN_UK food banks confirmed we're all dealing with an unprecedented level of suffering and deprivation.
What good are Christmas trimmings if you don’t have the basics?
One guest at @charlottemwhite's food bank really brought this home: “the bread sauce is all well and good," she said, "but my daughter doesn’t have any shoes”.

There are desperate people out there, if in #Earlsfield you can help locally:

This emotional caller says he's going to 'freeze to death in his own home' and just wants help.

Tragic interview on PM tonight - a 65 year old man with health conditions, struggling with the cost of energy & food
This is what poverty does to people - it is all-consuming & crushing
We are 1/4 of the way to our target of keeping warm those that need it most.
Thank you to those who have contributed so far!

Received a heart-wrenching message today from guest with children who has no heating at all. They were freezing cold, desperate. Thanks to the @localleveller scheme we could issue a fuel voucher immediately. They will be warm this weekend. Thanks to everyone who's contributed

Great #Earlsfield initiative
Money raised is starting to be disbursed. The more donations we have the more people we can help. As the weather turns colder this weekend families suffer.
If you can donate or share, now is the time. #Earlsfield
