Chat, I'm playing through WC3 for the first time in like 20+ years.
Does anything bad happen to this guy? He seems nice.

The varying answers to this were fun to read. WoW truly is a game that’s gone through vastly different eras to some while remaining nearly the same to others.
Fun entirely unintentional social experiment.
Can someone explain the difference between spamming UBRS for Dal'rend's and spamming +10 Murder Row for Freightrunner's Flask?
Tangent tweet so this will be rather incoherent, but somewhat related to this original tweet.
Some random Jordan thoughts over the last couple weeks regarding retail news:
I think post-WoD WoW has tried to make it so that we never feel like there’s nothing to do again. Invasions, World Quests, Weekly zone quests, Labyrinth, etc. etc. For some that’s great, for others that just feels like more work.
Post-SL WoW removed the expansion overarching borrowed power and gave us mini borrowed power. Circlet, Annulet, Omnomnom Folio, etc.
Great Vault was added because weekly chest with one item felt bad and no BLP felt bad to newer players. Modern bonus rolls were added to fill that gaps that the Great Vault design wasn’t great at.
Turbo Boost is a product of some players wanting to gear fast and some players wanting gear to be the natural nerf to the content instead of drastic tuning changes to the content. People still progressing the season are happy for the ilvl bump (not necessarily happy about the way to go about the ilvl bump), while those basically done with the season find it exhaustive.
If your concern is purely achievement based, I think you log in week one of the season, check the new stuff out, get famed slayer of delve boss, log out until .5 patch.
I say .5 over .7 because more people will still be doing the things. Basically the largest bulk of raid and dungeon tuning is finished and so you can just game.
Now where do I stand on all the above, personally, I don’t care. If I’m having fun, I play WoW, if I’m not having fun, I don’t play WoW, just that simple. I don’t like pretending my opinion matters more than anyone else. There are times when I like the mid-season things to do and there are other times when I don’t.
I do think if a design doesn’t hit the mark on either group of what you’re aiming for it needs to be scrapped. From what I’ve seen the gear over time group AND the instant gear group don’t like Venomstones, so maybe those go away next season.
I hope people, including devs, realize it’s not a singular raid tier that’s making some very long standing high end guilds quit. It’s a culmination of things that honestly almost all can be traced back to Legion or a reaction to Legion systems.
Felt like the Worldsoul Saga was pitched as a new chapter in WoW, but it feels like Forever is that more than the Saga ever could be. I hope whatever comes after TLT is epic and really something fresh and new, but it feels like they’re a bit TOO locked into seeing the saga through before making any big changes as costly as that may be.
If you’re mean to Sophie Powers simply because she’s not Madison Beer, the next fire I start will include you.
