If you or your child aren't up to date on the MMR vaccine, talk with your doctor. It's safe, effective and the best protection against measles. In my district, you can also reach out to the Squirrel Hill Health Center @ 412-422-7442 or ACHD’s Immunization Clinic @ 412-578-8062

Looking for the MMR vaccine near you? The MMR vaccine is widely available across Pennsylvania through pediatric offices, primary care providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Centers, the Vaccines for Children program, pharmacies, county or municipal health departments, or PA's 59 state health centers. Most private and commercial health insurance plans cover the MMR vaccine at no cost, but it’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider to be sure. Children 18 and under who are insured through Medicaid — and those who are uninsured or underinsured — can receive the MMR vaccine at no cost at any of Pennsylvania’s 59 state health centers, helping remove financial barriers to measles protection. Learn more at pa.gov/measles.

Roughly 5% to 10% of people with Parkinson’s are diagnosed before age 50, a form of the disease known as early-onset Parkinson’s disease (EOPD). People diagnosed in their 30s and 40s are often at the peak of their careers and raising families, and the disease can affect work, finances, relationships and mental health in ways that differ from a diagnosis later in life. A new study published in npj Parkinson’s Disease set out to assess how common EOPD is around the world and whether that picture has changed over time.
