AI engineering isn't just about calling an LLM API.
It's about building reliable AI systems that solve real problems in production.
Save this roadmap.
Learn one concept at a time.
Build projects as you go.
The goal isn't just to use AI. It's to engineer AI systems.

Our community member @codigo_leo is raising funds to bring Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpreters to @LaraconIN 2027.
This support will directly benefit around 8 deaf/hard-of-hearing community members planning to attend the event. Let us try spread this word and do our bit.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀
What does this mean? This means that 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀.
This includes:
🔹 Talking to customers
🔹 Do system design
🔹 Writing docs
🔹 Finding ways to resolve different kinds of problems in the most efficient manner
🔹 Analyzing existing and future solutions
🔹 Talking with your peers
🔹 Making plans and executing it
🔹 Learning new stuff
🔹 Do different types of testing
🔹 Troubleshoot existing system
🔹 Using common sense
🔹 And more...
When you get the problem, sit first, try to understand, ask, clarify, then make a plan and execute. Do not jump into coding immediately.
Ultimately, 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁.
But if you can resolve something without a code, even better.
And remember that 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁! Every line of code you write needs to be executed somewhere; we must pay for this in runtime, etc.
We don't want to be a 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 but a team that produces high-quality software and efficiently solves our clients' problems.
Do you agree?

The Pinkary migration from Laravel Forge to Laravel Cloud is a useful reminder:
Infrastructure migrations rarely fail because the deployment command is difficult.
They fail because the application quietly depends on infrastructure assumptions.
Local filesystem.
Database behavior.
Queries.
Environment configuration.
Storage.
The framework may be portable.
Your assumptions often aren't.
That's where migration work really lives.

I started building websites in 1998
Went from:
html in notepad > css + html > flash > bootstrap (and asp .net) > WordPress (php) > and now Claude Code
I don't know what the future holds, but I know that in this industry you always have learn and adapt
PHP 8.6 just reached feature freeze.
The release is scheduled for November 19, with RC1 coming tomorrow.
Some interesting additions include:
→ Partial function application
→ clamp()
→ Time\Duration
→ Readonly property defaults
PHP keeps evolving in ways that don't always make headline news.
If you're building Laravel applications, keeping up with the PHP underneath the framework matters too.
Laravel gets the attention.
PHP determines a lot of what Laravel can become.

With AI you can sometimes one-shot a feature.
But you cannot one-shot the full project from zero to launch.
And that's not the fault of AI models. It's just that project creation is really messy in reality.

A Laravel controller doesn't become "clean" just because you moved 200 lines into a service.
You haven't improved the architecture if the service now contains:
→ Validation
→ Database queries
→ Authorization
→ API calls
→ Notifications
→ Business rules
→ Error handling
You've just moved the mess.
Good architecture is about clear responsibilities.
Not moving code between folders.
