Everyone has this whole system backwards. If a post only gets 1-2 likes, it's a work of genius only appreciated by a discerning few. If a post does numbers it's reprehensible slop that appeals to the lowest common denominator and you've failed.

I'm realising that I'm a snob about books in a way I am for no other art form. If someone recommended I read this I'd think they were trying to attack me psychically

it's funny how when ur feeling super upset and impulsive theres kind of a moment where you know that what you're about to do is going to has serious long term consequences and no chance of doing any good for you but you just can't see any universe where you don't do it

I can't speak for anyone else, but whenever I read a book, I always feel like my writing improves immensely for a while. Like a little boost. The flow is good too. And when I stop reading, my writing does a very sharp decline, and the flow goes choppy. It's a fight.
