I'm starting to become more and more convinced of the truth of this saying ;) Lately, I've been deeply immersed in integrating AI into our business. It's been an eye-opening journey – equal parts exhilarating and exasperating. Here's my take: Expectations vs. Reality: While social media and conferences like this latest one from Open AI may paint a rosy picture, the practical application of AI in small businesses is not easy. It's not just plug-and-play; is a complex and varied endeavor. Case in Point - Our AI Journey: We've been testing AI to support the technical documentation of our MDB. The road was bumpy – from initial hiccups (see first screenshot) to gradual improvements (check out the second screenshot). It's a tale of persistence and deep learning. In the beginning, the bot gets confused by the simplest question about the latest version of our software (first screenshot). It took us a lot of effort to achieve a satisfactory result even in such a (seemingly) simple task (second screenshot). The Challenge of AI Implementation: Achieving meaningful results with AI, especially using tools like Open AI API, demands more than just surface-level engagement. It's an expensive and technical pursuit, requiring specialized knowledge and a strategic approach. (The new Open AI API [Assistant API] itself can generate several dozen USD costs for several short conversations, which again makes it impossible to put the solution into production) Deep Dive Pays Off: Only through an in-depth, technical exploration of AI were we able to craft solutions that hit the sweet spot in terms of performance and cost. Exciting Times Ahead: We're on the brink of introducing new AI implementations at MDB, which will greatly improve customer interaction with our product. To sum up - AI is the future, a revolution is happening before our eyes and I am surprised at every entrepreneur who does not do everything possible to keep up with changes and implement AI in their business.
