Half of life is having the curiosity to imagine new paths. The other half is having the courage to explore them.

Focus on effort, not outcomes.
It’s insane to tie your wellbeing to things outside of your control, Marcus Aurelius said. If you did your best, if you gave it your all, if you acted with your best judgment—that's a win…regardless of whether it’s a good or bad outcome.

For deeper understanding and better memory, try turning everything you learn into something new – a note, a tweet, a presentation, a blog post, a video. This is called the Generation Effect, and it’s one of the best habits you can build.

Everything I’ve ever achieved has been on the other side of something difficult.
Learning to set boundaries?
Ending a toxic relationship
Not seeking external validation?
7 years of therapy
Selling a company?
3 years of constant intensity
Hitting my Fitness goals at 38?
Showing up every day and honoring myself.

I used to walk under 4,000 steps per day—and I was miserable.
Why?
Because I thought everything had to be done at my desk.
Now I take 20,000 steps a day—and it's the *single* best thing I've done for my health & creativity.
Here are 4 common "desk" activities I do on walks
1. All of my calls.
I despise sitting at my computer on Zoom for long periods of time. So now, I take all of my calls while walking around my neighborhood. This way, I'm not only getting in my steps, but I'm also more focused on the conversation without the distractions of my computer.
2. All of my learning.
Over the last few years, I've realized I am an audio-based learner. So whenever I'm immersing myself in a topic, I mow through audiobooks, podcasts, and courses on my walks (taking notes on the Drafts app along the way).
3. All of my creative brainstorming.
When I'm feeling stuck or need to think through a decision, I have to get moving. The fresh air and movement help to clear my mind and often lead to creative breakthroughs, rather than sitting stagnantly at my desk.
4. All of my "writing."
95% of my writing happens during walks—either outlining an idea on my phone or talking through the idea and recording it. By the time I sit down at my desk to "write," it's really just editing the pieces together & formatting it nicely—like this post for example!
Boom! That's it.
See if you can do more of your "desk" tasks out on a walk — I guarantee it'll change the way you think about "work".
