Pink Pearl and Pink Sapphire struggled to understand each other. Pink Sapphire constantly worried about the future, while Pink Pearl acted without thinking ahead. They argued often, but stayed together because they were all each other had. As the Crystal Gems drew closer to discovering them, their fear and desperation pushed them to fuse as a means of survival. Despite barely understanding each other, together they felt stronger and safer than they ever had apart. When the Crystal Gems eventually found them, they remained fused out of fear. But after meeting Garnet and realizing that fusion could be more than survival, they slowly began to understand what they had become. What started as a way to protect themselves became someone they both loved being, and from then on, they chose never to separate.
