Hey @DaveChappelle .
You probably didn’t remember this.
I know you don’t care, but you should.

The Washington Post is fabricating this out of whole cloth. I have not reached out to anybody about running for anything. Just another pathetic attempt to garner clicks.
Using anonymous sources of course!
I’ve lived in Texas for 45 years. No one outside of Austin knew who the hell Gina Hinojosa was. And you’re telling me she beat a multi-term incumbent, who won his last election by double digits, by a big margin in Texas. That math ain’t mathing

Speaking as a computer scientist...
Note also that the numbers you referenced aren't all just 64-35, they're all 64.6 + or - 0.2, and 35.4 + or - 0.2. That's even more unlikely.
This is what happens when you don't pay attention in math class. Likely some corrupt programmer put in a random factor that he thought would alter the numbers, without making it look like it altered the numbers. Like (brain-dead example) "If this ballot was for the opponent, and the random number generator is greater than 0.6, then change it.". But he didn't bother to do the math, or he would have realized that if you use whatever that random element is, over enough cases, then the result converges on 64.6 and 35.4.
At least if I was going to vet the program that did this, then that's what I'd most expect to find. This is a typical undergrad mistake. Just because your algorithm has a randomizing element, that doesn't mean that the result isn't going to converge, over a large enough number of trials.
Also note that this kind of manipulation almost always leaves a footprint in the data. Statisticians who specialize in analyzing voting results know what properties honest results should have. Unless the corrupt programmer really knew what he was doing, they'll spot the strange results, and the nature of the strangeness will give them a strong clue as to what the programmer did.
HOLY CR*P 🚨 How is this even possible??
All of California’s major candidate election results are the EXACT SAME percentages for Democrats and Republicans
Governor 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Lieutenant Governor 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Secretary of State 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Controller 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Treasurer 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Attorney General 64% (D) vs 35% (R)
Supreme Court Justice: Joshua Groban 72% (D) vs 28% (R)
Supreme Court Justice: Kelli M. Evans 72% (D) vs 28% (R)
These don’t look like real election results, they look like a computer algorithm
Our elections are fake

Grow up, Pramila. Bullying and trolling are not really the role of members of Congress. You are a public servant. Act like it.
By the way, knitting is a skill. Acquiring some skills is part of a healthy, balanced life. I recommend this to you. No need to be hateful all day!

Jake Tapper tried to ambush Stephen Miller on CNN with the brilliant fucking theory that deporting illegal immigrants would send grocery prices through the roof. Miller challenged his bullshit premise, tore into the argument, and offered to stay another thirty minutes to explain it.
Thirty fucking minutes.
For a CNN anchor accustomed to controlling the questions, framing the answers, and deciding when the conversation ends, that must have felt like being trapped in an intellectual wood chipper.
Tapper wanted Miller squirming over the supposedly catastrophic consequences of enforcing immigration law. Miller asked why American agriculture should depend on exploited illegal labor and challenged the assumption that illegal immigrants were overwhelmingly working America's farms.
Tapper complained that Miller was changing the subject.
Of course he fucking did.
When your carefully constructed gotcha question starts collapsing, accuse the other guy of dodging and pray the commercial break arrives before the audience notices who actually ran out of arguments.
Miller offered to keep talking.
What an absolute goddamn catastrophe for the CNN School of Journalism, where smug assumptions apparently qualify as evidence and asking a loaded question passes for intellectual achievement.
Now Trump has promoted that same Stephen Miller to White House chief of staff, and Washington's professional hysterics are losing their collective shit.
ABC calls him combative. NBC wrings its hands over his immigration policies. CBS actually managed to drag sexism into the appointment because Trump replaced Susie Wiles with a man.
Holy fucking hell.
These sanctimonious clowns could watch Trump replace a broken coffee maker and produce a seventeen-minute investigative segment about systemic misogyny in federal caffeine procurement.
And then there's Thom Tillis, the Republican establishment's walking surrender document, whining that Miller is too divisive to extend an olive branch to Democrats.
An olive branch?
Fuck your olive branch.
Democrats are preparing to obstruct Trump's agenda, their media buddies are already manufacturing the next moral emergency, and Tillis wants the White House to organize a goddamn bipartisan group hug.
Meanwhile, Miller has demonstrated exactly why these people despise dealing with him. He challenges loaded questions, demands specifics, refuses to apologize for enforcing immigration laws, and possesses the apparently supernatural ability to finish a coherent argument without collapsing into a puddle of consultant-approved talking points.
Now imagine that approach guiding White House operations while congressional Democrats demand concessions, television anchors manufacture outrage, and spineless Republicans beg everyone to lower the temperature.
Washington has spent decades perfecting the art of making weak arguments sound devastating through friendly interviews, selective framing, and Republican cowardice.
Trump just elevated a man who enjoys ripping those arguments apart in public.
And now every smug, self-important asshole in Washington faces the same horrifying possibility Jake Tapper encountered:
Their carefully rehearsed bullshit might actually have to survive thirty uninterrupted minutes with Stephen Miller.
Good fucking luck.

I am totally down with the Stephen Miller pick.
Miller is exactly the sort of take-no-prisoners man we need backing up Trump for the next two years.
Miller's #1 priority will be achieving the MAGA agenda.
He won't care what people say about him.
He won't try to be some sort of self-serving Machiavelli, he'll be true to Trump and his agenda.
He won't play around with quid pro quo, sell-out deals that do nothing other than advance the personal interests of third parties who never had Trump's back.
He'll be ruthlessly efficient.
He'll do it out in the open, not in backdoor deals that sell the electorate down the tubes.
He's what we need right now. He's a wartime consigliere.
Stand. Fight. Defend the Republic.

🚨 JUST IN: Incoming WH Chief of Staff Stephen Miller just EMERGED with president Trump at Mar-a-Lago and said it PERFECTLY
"This man took a BULLET for us. He faced down life in PRISON for us...We need to stand with the man who has stood with us and this country with every fiber of his being! It is the honor of my life to be President Trump's chief of staff. And I swear to you, and I pledge to you, Mr. President, my absolute loyalty, my unwavering commitment, and my total devotion to your success and the success of this country."
"Let me tell you, if it wasn't for President Trump, the United States of America would not exist right now. This man saved America. He saved our military from collapse. He saved our economy from destruction. He saved our border from annihilation. And he saved our country from threats at home and abroad, which would have been the end of the American dream forever!" 🇺🇸
Miller has been with Trump since the escalator in 2015, and now he's running the White House. America First is in GOOD HANDS!
He's poised to kick off the great comeback so we can kick these country destroying Democrats out of office come 2028 and beyond.
47 is CLEARLY leaning in on what got him elected in the first place, and that's a good thing for all of us 👏🏻
Go crush it, @StephenM!

The thing that disgusts me about the "We lost because of Iran, MAGA is over, tear it all down" crowd is that I cannot find a single one of them who acknowledges that stopping a nuclear Iran might be more important than any midterm election.
Have the decency to acknowledge these facts:
1. Iran declared war on the USA in 1979.
2. We have been dealing with this reality fecklessly since that time.
3. The Iranian mullahs are not rational actors. They want nukes so they can USE THEM to precipitate Armageddon and bring forth the Twelfth Imam who will miraculously arise from a well in Qom and forcibly unite what is left of humanity under Shia Islam.
4. Trump may have had intel that said he needed to act before it was too late, midterms be damned.
I ACKNOWLEDGE that the Iran War likely cost us the election.
Why can't YOU acknowledge that Trump may have had no choice and acted bravely for the greater good of humanity?
WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS POSSIBILITY?

“San Francisco police officers and the San Francisco Police Officers Association are horrified by Governor Newsom’s move to provide blanket commutations for more than 500 death row inmates, including people convicted of murdering children, killing police officers, committing mass murder and carrying out hate-motivated killings.
“Behind every one of these cases are victims whose lives were stolen and families whose suffering never ends. Those families deserve justice and a governor who respects the gravity of their loss. California voters upheld the death penalty, and juries imposed these sentences after hearing the evidence of horrific crimes.
“These individuals would remain imprisoned for life without parole, but that does not erase the profound consequences of this decision. Governor Newsom is setting aside the punishment imposed on criminals for some of the worst crimes imaginable.
The police officers and SFPOA stand with the victims’ families, including the families of fallen officers, who have every right to be outraged and betrayed by Governor Newsom.”

Jenner Welch and Angie Sullivan, this is repulsive. Regardless of anyone’s political position, the mirth you express about the brutal murder of another human being is repugnant.
