Am feeling a little vindicated that the concerns I had about MIQ (and more importantly for me the way it was glibly characterised by the PM and Ministers) which were sufficient to change my political colours for the first time in nearly 40 years are shared by the High Court 🤓

Shouting into the void but really struggling with the hypocrisy of people - perhaps always been a defining feature of humanity but so amplified by social media platforms……
Specifically looking at you the freedom advocates who will not tolerate other peoples right to choose and you the justice warriors happy to condemn kids (yes kids) and send death threats….

Feeling really 😢for those who were hoping for non MIQ travel in Jan and who cannot even try for an MIQ slot until 9 January. Framing this as disruptive to holiday plans is cruel irrespective of how necessary. Please just acknowledge the real hurt when presenting these decisions
I guess tomorrow’s announcement is that self isolation from Aus will not commence 17 Jan so room release after that will give everyone a chance to compete for a spot.
Due to the evolving situation with Omicron, the room release is POSTPONED for 24 hrs. It is now on Wed 22 Dec at 12noon (NZT). The lobby will open at 11am (NZT). We need to carefully manage capacity as more travellers spend longer in MIQ. This reduces available rooms in MIQ.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated folks can get COVID (clearly heaps better to be vaccinated) so why are rapid antigen tests only available to unvaccinated please? I have missed the logic chain here. Checking before travel or events irrespective of vaxxed status seems good?
Remember when bird flu was a threat and Tamiflu was available to purchase at a high price - will the same thing happen with the Pfizer antiviral?
Bullying by the media is abhorrent. Bullying on social media is also abhorrent and I can’t help but see some double standards being applied by folks who seem not to see the impact of their own behaviours. Words hurt people. We should all be really careful with them ❤️
Well if the bail conditions are as reported then he should be @nzpolice…….am sure Mr Mansfield QC knows that too.
