Friday morning @EAST_HAWKS FCA. Hearing from Gavin and Abby. With a faculty fan group in the back! Great way to start a Friday.
Started my day with a selfie with Kate and with a couple thousand of my closest friends in a very warm gymnasium. Got a shout out from the student speaker. Loved the band playing the fight song. Not a bad start to the school year! @EAST_HAWKS #WEareLakota

I have a drawer full of thank you notes and teacher appreciation things.
You may not have a “Teacher of the Year” award hanging on your wall, but the handwritten notes from students, the drawings tucked in your desk drawer, and the little messages hanging around your classroom with smudges, misspelled words,
and hearts shaped more like potatoes are the trophies teachers treasure for a lifetime.
Those are the moments that remind you why you do this work.
Because in education, the things that matter most usually do not come with a plaque.
They come with fingerprints, crayons, messy handwriting, and heart.
Many students took pictures with me last night @east_hawks graduation. Please send me the pic! There are the only 2 I took with students.
