On behalf of all native Texans: You are a carpet bagging yankee You know that & that’s why y’all act like this We elected a Catholic woman & Southern Baptist preacher, not an adulterer from California If you think being Republican = being a Texan you might be a carpet bagger

I think Dems need to start framing it not as "retaliation" but as like, anti-corruption or something. Because this administration is just unspeakably, comically, corrupt.
C-SPAN: Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) on Democrats winning the Senate "I do hope that the Democrats don't view this as a mandate to retaliate... I hope that the Democrats look at this and say, this is opportunity to lead to find solutions. And if we're going to find solutions, they have to be for the country. They can't just be for our party."

🗣️🔊THE SOUTH GOT SOMETHING TO SAY.
DEMOCRATS WIN SENATE POPULAR VOTE ACROSS FORMER CONFEDERATE STATES Democrats won the combined Senate popular vote across ten former Confederate states, securing 20,782,908 votes (53.74%) to Republicans' 17,888,197 (46.26%)—a margin of nearly 2.9 million votes. The result is a major victory for Democrats in a region Republicans have dominated for decades. High Black voter turnout helped fuel the result, carrying particular historical significance in states where Black Americans were once denied the right to vote. Democrats broke decades-long losing streaks in Texas and South Carolina. James Talarico became the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate from Texas since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988, while Annie Andrews delivered South Carolina's first Democratic Senate victory since 1998.

Hinojosa: I say that the left right paradigm just does not meet the moment of our time. What this is about is about 99.9% of us in the same boat against like 15 billionaire tech guys who are controlling government…

Let’s get this out of the way. Trump doesn’t get another Supreme Court seat if anyone retires or dies. The Mitch McConnell rule applies. We’re always in an election year. Cope.

NEW: Congressman Jamie Raskin doesn't mince words about whether Democrats should pursue accountability or affordability. He says it's the exact same thing: "corrupt government is government serving the people . . . who seized the power of government."

Beyond thrilled for her. Not only is she a progressive upgrade, but she is one of the best candidates in the country on housing policy in a city that drastically needs it. LA has their own Mamdani now
Los Angeles, I am deeply honored to be your next mayor. I just spoke with Mayor Bass and expressed my deepest gratitude for her leadership and decades of service. Los Angeles would not be the city it is today without her. I love this city. I believe in its people. The work ahead will be hard, and change will take time. And together, we are going to build a future as extraordinary as the city we call home. Thank you, LA. Let’s get to work.

Democrats long dreamed of turning Texas blue, and on Tuesday they actually did. And it may not end there. Texas Democratic Party Chair @KendallScudder tells @DanaBashCNN "Texas is absolutely in play" in 2028.

“The 7th commandment is thou shall not commit adultery… do you think members of the legislature should be more focused on following the ten commandments than telling other people to follow it?” WHACK THEM AGAIN, SENATOR
In case anyone is wondering what kind of Senator James Talarico will be, here’s him challenging the author of the Ten Commandments bill in the Texas house. He’s been fighting extremism and hypocrisy for a long time
