went to visit a friend who’s a ceramicist and works in a studio with no phone signal in a tiny yorkshire village. he doesn’t listen to podcasts or music, only occasionally uses the radio, and when I asked him what he thinks about all day he just said “well, pots mostly”

My daughter hated all seafood at 3. We just told her all of it was chicken. She ate and loved all of it. The other kids were in on it. Salmon? Chicken. Crab? Also chicken. We kept this up for two years. Never had to deal with any pickiness about food. Why? Loves chicken.
trying to build this skill when dealing with young kids please share any similar anecdotes or tactics that have worked for you

Speaking of my ex-wife one thing I genuinely like about her is that when I get my every few year update text so I know she still exists I can text her back “omg you’re still alive??” and she doesn’t get mad.

Please note this is actually how you’re supposed to respond to texts from your ex

She’ll be like “hey I live in Kansas now just letting you know my new number” and I say “holy shit I assumed you would have died of an OD in a buc-ee’s bathroom by now” and she still lets me know when she moves next time. Almost sweet.

Hey now I wasn’t a *lesbian* I just married one once. Marry a lesbian in flip flops ONE TIME and you’re never beating the allegations. Sort of a part time gig. Like DoorDashing on the side, but gay.
I’m 43. We both have pretty wild backgrounds but instead of a lesbian occultist I was involved in illegal underground house music after hours and such.

It’s not gay if it’s for the plot. She asked I wasn’t going to say NO. How rude would that have been?? Context.

Co-parenting our daughter was pretty gay to be fair.

The problem is you’re trying to get from a therapist what you should have gotten from your mama but couldn’t because she was the actual worst and now you need therapy about it.

Therapist don’t know how to answer this question? Fire them all. Here is your answer: Oh, honey. People growing up have always felt this way, usually under insurmountable odds. The young always face a changing and challenging landscape because the reality of human life is that the landscape is perpetually exactly that. People woke up early to feed their kids and get about the work of their day through plagues, famines, good times, feast days, war, great loves, hard times. You will have your own challenges. AI will warp all our lives. Someone’s idiot son will cheat in you and ruin your year. You’ll have a beautiful kid or two. Life will surprise you. This is terrifying and mundane all at the same time. Everything is new every generation and yet somehow there is nothing new under the sun. So go to class, go on dates, learn to bake bread, pick a fight with your brother, go live your life. You aren’t special and that’s the best possible news for all of us.
Teens are telling their therapists they don’t believe there will be a world left for them when they grow up My family therapist told me therapists are talking about this with each other because none of them know what to say I can’t stop thinking about that

If my kid woke up today and said they feel like the world won’t be there for the when they grow old (they won’t) I’d say “good grief why the drama so early babe if you want oatmeal there is some on the stove” and go back to my trashy romance novel. Yall be making neurotic kids.

This is the exact moment I’m coming over the table for the throat if that’s my husband you’re talking to.
The way she flaunts how she is using Ethan right in front of his wife, dammm💀👀

I have a one strike rule. I will not explain or repeat a hard boundary to a fully grown adult who doesn’t haven’t a profound learning disability.
People who consistently cross boundaries you set and then try to guilt you for setting them are NOT your friends. I give people 3 strikes and they are out. Once you’re out there is no going back. Especially when I’ve made it clear when you’re on your 3rd strike.

You have to be a really desperate and deeply insecure person to flirt and pursue a married individual with a family, deeply deeply ruined as a person.
