We’re going to do something a bit different this morning, and we’re going to tell a story. Not about trophies, finances or promotions. About a person. This is Roy Watts, pictured centre-right in 1981/82. Seventy-five years after first becoming involved with Coventry Colliery FC, he is still serving the club today as Honorary Secretary, having filled countless roles over the decades. Grassroots football doesn’t survive because of money. It survives because of people like Roy, who quietly give up their time, year after year, simply because they care about football and the communities that clubs like Colliery serve. The Midland Football League is proud to help celebrate one of the game’s true servants, and one of the many brilliant people involved in @CollieryFC during our visit on Saturday. Thank you, Roy. #MFL @capellisport
