I realize it’s unlikely, but how crazy would it be for the secret service to have to protect Trump in prison? I’m not sure that was in the job description- for anyone, including agents and the prison staff and administration! nytimes.com/2024/05/30/nyreg…

Ramiro Gonzales is the next person facing execution in Texas.
He wants to donate his kidney.
“How can I give back life? This is probably one of the closest things to doing that,” he told @keribla.

This is exhibit A for anyone who ever tells you we should abolish criminology. The blatant lying and scaremongering in this unhinged advert should be the focus of every intro to crim lecture for the next decade, not to mention 100 theses. Utterly desperate and pathetic:

FBI just released 2022 crime stats today:
Violent crime dropped 1.7%, murder dropped 6.1%, and property crime increased 7.1%.
Keep in mind that violent and property crime rates are both at their lowest levels in over 50 years. washingtonpost.com/national/…
With all the headlines about murder and shoplifting sprees, I think people forget:
The violent crime rate is the same as in 1971. The property crime rate is the same as in 1963. We're in a fundamentally low-crime era. @CouncilonCJ's new resource: counciloncj.foleon.com/the-f…
