I met Greg Bear at the Petaflops conference in Bodega Bay in August of 1995. He was a good man, and one of the best science fiction authors ever. I was always looking forward to reading his next book.
Said goodbye to my dad today. I love him and I'm going to miss him so much. A lot of who I am I got from him, and I know he was always proud of me and I was proud to be his daughter. Read one of his books in his honor, if you're so inclined. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg…

32 years ago today I arrived in Los Alamos with all my worldly possessions. I expected to leave at the end of a summer graduate research fellowship, but I’ve been here ever since.

Visiting Casa Bonita as a kid was magical. Later on, our entire high school marching band disappeared into a normal dinner crowd. Kudos to Trey & Matt for ensuring its future.

I was going to post something snarky about trying to have a nice dinner in Los Alamos on a Friday night after 8pm, but realized anyone who would care already knows.
