Everytime I go downriver from Lanzhou I swear I see Black Necked Cranes flying low over the river in pairs but I am too far to confirm with a photo and people just assume I didn’t because they’re kinda rare.

Two cranes, two reflections, one beautiful moment. 岗山 “hidden paradise” scenic area south of XiNing. Almost no one here. Did a scramble up to a ridge to watch the sunset then hiked a yak trail down through the woods back to the temple.

Crossed the mountains on a back road off a back road into MenYuan. Found myself in the most beautiful pastoral village in the middle of highland barley harvest season. Unable to determine for @pretentiouswhat if we are allowed in this area of 青海 as we kinda snuck in

Drove up and over the QiLian mountains. They were building freeway tunnels up here. I doubt you’ll be able to access the pass for much longer. Feeling very lucky to chill in beautiful places

Driving into Qinghai from Wuwei the freeway abruptly ends and you hit dirt track that takes you through the QiLian mountains into Menyuan.
