Karnataka SIR: The data bust claims made by the BJP and the right-wing ecosystem that SIR of electoral rolls is primarily aimed at identifying illegal immigrants, particularly alleged Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants.
According to constituency wise data released by Sankalp, a political research consultancy, 108 of the 127 people flagged as Not Indian Citizen are Hindus, 12 are Muslims and seven are Christians. The figures mean that Muslims account for just 9.4% of those listed under this category, while Hindus make up nearly 85% and Christians account for about 5.5%.

The data raises questions about the claims made by sections of the political establishment and the right-wing ecosystem that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is primarily aimed at identifying illegal immigrants, particularly alleged Bangladeshi Muslim immigrants. If the figures are any indication, the number of people marked as Not Indian Citizen in Karnataka is small, and Muslims account for less than one-tenth of the entries in this category. Hindus, meanwhile, account for more than four-fifths of the total.

Wednesday, 28 October: The system may approach the Andhra Pradesh coast, with a possible landfall zone extending broadly from Visakhapatnam to Bapatla
Thursday–Friday, 29–30 October: If the system moves inland, rainfall may spread across parts of Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring regions. Tamil Nadu rainfall will depend on the system's position and associated rain bands.
