i made a site that connects inventions throughout history to what might come next what had to happen for AI to exist? and what does AI make possible from here? i wanted to see it all connected, so i built Tomorrow’s Tech Tree

The millennial candidates are communicating on a different level.
Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”

anthropic is massively underplaying the recent security breach. i'm hearing cathedral achieved full administrator access of the slack workspace (see every message, log in as arbitrary users) where literally every single research secret is contained to those unfamiliar: Ant & OAI keep literally everything in Slack. it sounds exactly the same incident that happened to OpenAI in 2023, where OpenAI was hacked by a random guy who got access to an access token from an external app service "we're critical to national security, we must beat China, and yes we keep all our crown jewels in Salesforce's Slack messenger. yes we have admin API tokens everywhere. why do you ask?"

Capitalism on authoritarian steroids
Dario Amodei: some tokens Claude produces are worth a few cents, others could be worth tens of millions of dollars. His examples: 1. Telling someone to restart their Mac: the model has said it 10 million times, worth a dollar or less 2. Telling a pharma company to move an aromatic ring to the other end of a molecule: potentially tens of millions 3. Expect pay-for-results pricing, or labor-like pricing by the hour 4. It's a new industry, so many models will be tried Today pricing is simpler: per the S-1, usage-based pricing was 80% of H1 2026 revenue and subscriptions 20%. Full breakdown here: theaiopportunities.com/p/ant…

Sam Altman thinks it's going to get even worse. Society is completely unprepared for what's about to happen. "I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs."
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs." It's over.
