We cant live like this.
We need to start ramping up pressure to GoK bureaucrats and politicians.
They walk abroad but here they love cars because in those tinted windows, they're insulated from public scrutiny and the smell of underdevelopment that they make us wallow in.

IMO, this does NOT provide the Americans an "off ramp". This is simply the Saudis acknowledging the reality that the US military cannot and will not save them.
Walking away from this defeat is still too bitter a pill for the US to swallow. They have more blunders to commit.

The Serbian student-led victory & President-elect Lula' acknowledgement of youths who rallied behind his latest victory, validates my 2020 thesis that youths have the power to nonviolently bring change when they understand public policy & build their own narrative using new media

NTSA, a footage circulating yesterday (below) showed RAYMOND OMOSA, racing a Mercedes-Benz C-Class on a dual carriageway, with dangerous overtaking that came close to collisions with other cars. The Mercedes appeared to nearly rear-end another vehicle while attempting to overtake from the left side. Collision-warning alarms could be heard as the visibly unbelted occupants panicked and the unbelted driver braked sharply. Have you identified both drivers and investigated this footage @ntsa_kenya? Other motorists should not have to risk their lives because someone wants racing content for social media.

I got this message from a senior police officer following my request for a statement in the Senate on the welfare of police officers in Kenya.
“I have been asking myself: if a DCI office at the sub-county level receives less than KSh 200,000/- in AIE funds over a period of three months, our salaries, fuel, and motor vehicle maintenance then where does the rest of the billions allocated annually to the police service go?
This is a genuine question about public finance and resource allocation. Officers on the ground are often expected to deliver results with extremely limited operational funds, yet the police service receives a substantial budget every year. Greater transparency on how these funds are distributed from headquarters to operational units would help build public confidence and improve accountability.
Even some sub counties have no vehicles and have as few as four officers and no AIEs.”

🚨 IT'S TIME TO RECLAIM OUR FUTURE.
There's a severe disconnect between governments and the people they're supposed to represent, and so much of it comes down to the extraordinary influence that concentrated wealth and industry hold over politics.
What's happening in Paris is another example.
It shouldn't take mass protests for governments to listen to their citizens. And judging by Macron's response so far, even then, the message doesn't seem to be sinking in.
I recently tried to boil the wider problem down into a simple equation:
💰 → 🏛️ → 🔥 > 👥🌍 → 🏛️ → 🌱✨
On one side, concentrated wealth and corporate interests exert enormous influence over governments, shaping political priorities and perpetuating the crises we face.
On the other, millions of people are demanding a fairer, healthier, more sustainable world, yet their collective influence struggles to compete.
And the really frightening part? This isn't a straight line. It's a downward spiral.
Each crisis creates the conditions for the next. Wealth and power become more concentrated, political influence becomes more entrenched, and our ability to confront the next crisis weakens.
Meanwhile, the baseline of what we accept, expect and believe is possible keeps falling.
But the same principle can work in reverse.
If people and planet held greater influence over government, progress could reinforce progress. Real solutions would build confidence, visible results would raise expectations, and each cycle could leave us with stronger, fairer and more sustainable foundations than the last.
The challenge, surely, is to flip that > symbol.
And that brings me back to Paris.
Why should public power only come into play when things have become so intolerable that millions feel compelled to take to the streets?
Why must people continually fight to be heard by governments that are supposed to represent them?
What if we could build and sustain that collective power permanently?
Not simply mobilising against the latest injustice or crisis, but creating the conditions in which public influence consistently outweighs the interests of concentrated wealth.
There are already millions of people working towards a better future, but too much of that effort is spent fighting against a tide flowing relentlessly in the opposite direction.
We can't keep fighting against a tide that's constantly pulling us backwards.
WE NEED TO FLIP THE FUCKING TIDE.
And this should be something we're all demanding. Not simply more action on individual crises, but a fundamental change to the conditions that keep creating and perpetuating them.
It's a challenge I'm currently working on myself, but it's far bigger than any individual, organisation or movement.
Public power shouldn't only matter when things become so intolerable that millions are forced onto the streets.
It should be permanent. Not simply the power to protest against the future being imposed upon us, but the collective power to shape the future we actually want.
Surely, that's what democracy was supposed to be about in the first place.
"Greed, corruption, negligence, dishonesty and incompetence have no tribe, race or religion. Neither do their victims."
The list of labels, stereotypes and insults goes on and on. Sadly, this is the kind of language we have normalised in our society.
We seem to forget that every race, tribe, religion, caste and community has its own clans, sub-clans and different groupings. Within all these communities, you will find good people and bad apples. No community has a monopoly on either.
The bigger problem is that our political leaders have deliberately nurtured this culture of division for decades, knowing very well that a divided society is easier to manipulate and control.
Look at the numerous road accidents and building collapses we have witnessed. A reckless matatu driver operating in Central or Eastern Kenya may end up killing innocent passengers who belong to his very own community. A negligent developer or contractor may put up a dangerous building that collapses, killing people who share his own ethnicity, religion or background.
Suddenly, the same people we are quick to defend simply because they belong to our community are responsible for the suffering of their very own people.
Greed, corruption, negligence, dishonesty and incompetence have no tribe, race or religion. Neither do their victims.
Some of these bad apples will happily endanger, exploit and even destroy the lives of their own people if there is money to be made.
Yet we continue defending individuals based on their surnames, tribes, religions or political affiliations instead of judging them by their character, actions and integrity.
We need to understand one simple thing. A dishonest person does not suddenly become honest because you share a tribe, religion or surname. The same person you defend today may be the one whose actions destroy your life tomorrow.
Until we learn to see people as individuals rather than representatives of entire communities, we will continue falling for the same cheap politics of division.
Humanity above all.

Lula was only 33 when he led the strike alongside the metalworkers’ union that challenged Brazil’s military dictatorship. He secured wage increases and was imprisoned.
His rival, the far-right Flávio Bolsonaro, on the other hand, has had only one occupation since the age of 21: spending his wealthy family’s money and engaging in far-right thuggery.

Gadi Eizenkot, this evening, shortly after the reports, approved by Israeli censorship, that Chief of Staff Zamir has been standing firm andblocking Netanyahu from intentionally provoking a war before the elections.
"Netanyahu, my eyes are on you.
The man on whose watch the greatest disaster in the nation’s history occurred refuses to understand that Israel’s security is not a political bargaining chip, the lives of Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers are not abandoned property, and the State of Israel is not his private property.
I have full confidence in Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and the IDF commanders who act out of professional responsibility and absolute commitment to the state's security. We will not allow the IDF to be turned into a tool in Netanyahu’s survival campaign.
I warn Netanyahu: Do not dare to place your political interests above the security of the state.
Holding the elections on schedule and completing the democratic process is a central component of Israel's national resilience. We will not allow you to jeopardize Israel’s future in order to preserve your rule.
In two days, the citizens of Israel will put an end to the reign of recklessness and restore responsibility, statesmanship, and Israel’s security.
I give my word.

Had it not been for Boris Johnson and Victoria Nuland -- who personally forced Zelensky to reject the deal Ukraine and Russia were about to sign in Istanbul in 2022 -- this horrific war that has killed more than a million and consumed much of Ukraine would have been long over.
It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel.
If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Serbian students overthrowing Vučić is an extraordinary achievement.
In 2024, they began protesting. In 2025, they transformed a protest movement into civil dissidence. In 2026, they became a political party — and 2 months later, crushed a corrupt state-entrenched authoritarian.
