Thank you @InsideOsogbo. You are right and your poll reflects a real concern that matches the data we have gathered as well. Youth unemployment and underemployment are the defining challenge of the state, and @Osun_State_Gov under Governor @AAdeleke_01 is responding with skills that will lead to real opportunities. Recently, we conducted training for digital skills for teachers, trainings in UI/UX, front end web development, training for young people that want to go into farming, training improved Adire making, systems networking trainings, and participants are already getting engaged. State government recently announced training for Advanced Research Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (ARDAI) which drew 3,438 qualified applicants from all 30 LGAs. That is the hunger for opportunity you describe, and we are meeting it with world-class digital skills. Governor Adeleke is also working on a complete revamp of how we deliver vocational training for unskilled workers. The goal is to make Osun the hub for the most sought-after artisans in Nigeria. Imagine an Osun with best trained and equipped tilers and POP artisans, presently people with this skillset for most projects in South West are brought in from neighboring countries. Beyond digital skills, we have already lined up trainings for
- Solar installation and renewable energy
- Modern agriculture, agribusiness and food processing to build the value chain of our agricultural products.
- Improved fashion and textile finishing, we plan to take Adire production and sales global
- Recycling and the circular economy And the state government won't stop at just training, because training alone isn't enough. Under the leadership of Governor Adeleke, we are also working to link certified training to affordable revolving credit for small businesses, so that our graduates can start and grow their own businesses instead of waiting for jobs. On creating an enabling environment for businesses and investment, the work is already underway. State government has simplified the process of obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), every farmer and business owner knows this is key to unlocking land as collateral for more investment that leads to development that leads to job creation.
State Government has also unified business registration and tax process, reducing the bureaucracy in getting things done in the state.
We have made serious progress on the Osun Free Trade Zone, which is pulling in different large scale manufacturing businesses.
The airport project is also moving at great speed, this will further connect Osun State to other business environments Governor Adeleke understands the path: skills, then capital, then enterprise, all built on an economy that is open for business. That is how we build measurable job creation in Osun and I hope we can continue to count on your partnership to help get this message to the right places.

🚨 WHAT IS HAPPENING IN EDE, OSUN STATE? Reports circulating on WhatsApp show operatives of the Nigeria Police Force's Cybercrime Unit conducting an operation at a student hostel in broad daylight, allegedly intimidating and harassing students. The incident raises serious questions about police respect for fundamental human rights and the rule of law. Was there a valid search warrant? Was the operation conducted in accordance with the law? Fighting cybercrime must never become an excuse for intimidating innocent citizens or violating their constitutional rights. Even suspected criminals are entitled to due process.

What an incredible response! 3,695 applications have been received for the Advanced Research Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (ARDAI Tier I), which Osun State Government @Osun_State_Gov under the leadership of Governor @AAdeleke_01 is hosting in partnership with @UNESCO REF. This overwhelming interest is a testament to the growing enthusiasm among young people to acquire cutting-edge AI skills and position themselves for the opportunities of the future. We are truly encouraged! A preliminary review, however, shows that some applicants are neither indigenes nor residents of Osun State, while others do not meet the minimum educational requirements. The SDG @osunsdgcreative office will carry out a thorough screening process to ensure that the programme benefits qualified applicants who meet the stated eligibility criteria and with partners to identify programs that non eligible applicants can benefit from. Osun is opening doors to the future, and the response has been phenomenal!

Osun Government Sponsors 18 Coaches for Professional Training at NIS The Osun State Government has sponsored 18 coaches to undertake professional coaching courses at the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Lagos, in a strategic move to strengthen coaching capacity and advance sports development across the state. The beneficiaries, selected from the three senatorial districts of Osun State, comprise male and female coaches drawn from various sporting disciplines, including football, weightlifting, para weightlifting, athletics, boxing and other sports. The initiative also provides an opportunity for former athletes, including former para-sport athletes, to acquire professional coaching knowledge and transition into coaching careers. The programme is fully sponsored by the Osun State Government through the Office of the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi who doubles as the commissioner for sports in the state. Speaking during a send-off ceremony on Wednesday, October 21, as the coaches prepared to depart Osogbo for Lagos in a Sports Council bus, the General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Ademola Daini, charged the beneficiaries to be worthy ambassadors of Osun State throughout their training. He urged them to demonstrate discipline, dedication and professionalism while making the most of the learning opportunity, stressing that the knowledge and skills acquired should ultimately contribute to improving coaching standards and sporting performance in the state. Daini expressed appreciation to the Osun State Government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for sponsoring the programme. He also commended Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi for championing the initiative and giving the necessary approval for its implementation. The General Manager further acknowledged the Chairman of the Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Engr. Abiola Jeremiah Awoyeye, for his consistent support for sports development initiatives. According to Daini, the sponsorship forms part of Governor Adeleke's sports reform agenda, particularly the drive to build a stronger technical workforce capable of identifying, nurturing and preparing athletes for competitive engagements at various levels. He noted that investing in coaches across different sporting disciplines and all three senatorial districts would strengthen the state's sports development structure, improve technical knowledge and create a more sustainable pathway for grassroots talent development. Also present at the send-off ceremony was the Director of Technical of the Osun State Sports Council, Mrs. Adejoke Osho, who joined other officials in wishing the beneficiaries success in their training. Responding on behalf of the coaches, Abdullahi Adegoke, a former Taekwondo athlete of the Osun State Sports Council and one of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the state government for providing the opportunity to advance their professional knowledge and coaching capabilities. Adegoke also appreciated the leadership of the Sports Council for facilitating the initiative, assuring that all the beneficiaries would uphold the image of Osun State and return with valuable knowledge to support the development of their respective sports.
