She’s being remarkably patient as I admire the red kite in the wind!!! #morningwalk
Did you know that if fed in moderation, orange pumpkins are really quite good for horses?! They contain lots of vitamins (A,C and E), minerals (including potassium) and nutrients, they are low in calories and as they have around 90% water content, they are great for hydration
too. The seeds even contain cucurbitacin which has been shown to have deworming properties, so there's not a bit they can't eat! #ManeChanceSanctuary #RescueHorses #EquineWelfare #AnimalCharity
It's fireworks season again and sadly this will mean that more animals (not just horses) will lose their lives through fear or accidents caused by fear.
If you know of any fireworks happening in your street or local area, please ask the organisers to consider any animals housed nearby and let the owners know so they can keep them in or take sensible precautions - just a note through neighbour's doors or a social media post
We are delighted to announce that the We Are The Voice Children's Choir is joining us for our Carols evening on Sunday 6th December in Godalming.
They are an award-winning environmental choir of children aged between 6-16 years old, who are inspired by nature, imagination and hope.
They will be performing two original songs, one in particular is very special to Mane Chance, but you will have to be there to find out why! Tickets are selling fast for this wonderful event, so please book quickly - we hope to see you there!

Last Friday, one of our grooms took on an amazing challenge and threw herself out of a plane at 15,000 feet - all to raise money for us!
Jess completed a tandem jump which as you can see from the photo, was spectacular.
We are so proud of her and extremely grateful too - not only does she look after our horses when at work but she is prepared to take a leap for them too! Could you help us get her fundraising up to £1000 (we are nearly there!) - she has been so brave and it would be wonderful to
show our collective appreciation... thank you for anything you can give!
And just as importantly, THANK YOU Jess!

Eleven years ago today, Thelma and Louise arrived at Mane Chance.
A farmer had narrowly avoided hitting them with his vehicle one dark night as they were let loose and dumped on a country road - he managed to get them into one of his fields for safety.
We had been helping by looking after them in his field whilst we got them well enough and ready to travel to us and finally they arrived - they have thrived ever since.
Could we be one step nearer? For many people that visit New York, the sight of the horse-drawn carriages and the demeanour of many of the horses in and around Central Park make your heart sink.
It now appears (due to the death of a human!) that there is enough support that they may finally be outlawed - we would be delighted! Let's keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow when a vote is taking place!
